The first one that comes to mind is Rinko Kikuchi. Coincidentally, I was watching Fraud Game 2 in the past two days, and there was her part in it, playing Ryo Katsuragi. I think there are some similarities between these two characters, that is, they can't speak. Chieko in the movie is unable to speak, while Katsuragi chooses to never be frank.
The most impressive part about Chieko in the movie is that they were in a nightclub, everyone was writhing frantically, and Chieko was at a loss at first, but later joined in. I was wondering if the director knew what I was thinking, and I was wondering how Chieko fit in? What is she really feeling? So the silence is inserted every few seconds into the dance music - that's her real world.
Chieko is really a powerless person. Her communication was limited to movement and writing due to her deafness. To make matters worse, people will not communicate with her because she has lost her way of communication, which is regarded as driving her into a corner.
I always thought she would die in the end because no one else said a good outcome. But thanks to her father's presence, she survived. However, will she not encounter obstacles in the future?
I think the name Tower of Babel fits the content of this movie very well, I don't know how the director or screenwriter came up with it.
The tragedy of the shepherd boy and the Mexican grandmother is that they cannot communicate with others.
But it's not God's fault, because God's way is to keep people from saying the same things, and yet in the movie they can understand the dialogue.
The problem with people is that even if they can communicate with each other, they are not necessarily trusted, and they are not necessarily separated.
In this way, God's way is a failure. Because today, I can speak English, and the Tower of Babel should have been built.
One thing is that I don't think the flashback setting is useful, other than shocking.
