Randy endured the severe pain in his heart, looked at the backstage, Pei Mu was no longer there, and then he lowered his head and smiled wryly. This is the saddest scene in the whole movie. Before Randy's life-threatening leap, he looked back, the lights were still dim, and the man wasn't there.
In fact, not only this last look back, but every time Randy looked back in his life, he saw nothing but dim lights. So did his lover, so did his daughter, even his beloved wrestling.
If I'm not mature enough, I'll blame the director for letting Pei Mu leave, and he didn't stage a happy ending, "Suddenly looking back, that person was in the dim light". However, I know that the director's arrangement is not wrong. People always hope that there will be some people and some things, which will just happen in the blink of an eye, but other people's lives do not exist to fulfill you. Suddenly looking back, why is that person here? It's only fair that Randy has to pay for his excessive profligacy, and every mistake has a price.
I advise you not to look back, the lights are dim.
