During World War II, a U.S. fighter jet and a Japanese fighter jet crashed on Skull Island, and the pilot made an emergency landing by parachuting. After landing, the two sides fought, and a King Kong as big as a hill appeared when you were dying.
The time has come to the United States in the 1970s, the situation in the United States is turbulent, the Cold War, the Vietnam War... The archaeologist Landa persuaded members of Congress to fund his archaeological project and asked for an escort by the military.
Next, Landa began to recruit various team members, such as James, a former British special forces captain, Weaver, a female battlefield photographer, and so on.
On the U.S. side, the Vietnam War has just been announced, but Colonel Packard, a black man, seemed to have no end in sight, so when he received the task of escorting the archaeological team, he was very happy.
The warship sailed to Skull Island, but there was a strong storm around Skull Island, and the warship could not go in at all. So the black colonel and his men drove the helicopter through the storm zone to Skull Island. Before departure, they made an agreement with the people on the warship that they would send a plane to pick them up in the northern part of Skull Island three days later.
As soon as he arrived at Skull Island, the archaeologist Landa asked the black colonel to drop a bomb to measure the ground condition. As a result, the violent explosion attracted King Kong, the size of a hill. King Kong "tears" the helicopter by hand, and the people on the helicopter were killed, wounded, and wounded. Finally, the black colonel and most of his surviving subordinates were brought together into one group, and the others were grouped together. Next, the black colonel took his surviving men to find Major Chapman - they had had a simple radio call before. The former captain of the British army and others went north. Along the way, both groups encountered several strange creatures, such as buffalo monsters, bat monsters and the like. These creatures are large, and some of their subordinates are eaten by these creatures.
On the side of the former captain of the British army, Landa's motives are gradually exposed - he encountered King Kong in a military operation before, and everyone else died, but he was alive. This time he was trying to prove the existence of King Kong.
Afterwards, the former captain of the British army and others actually saw human beings. These human beings are indigenous to the island. Even more surprising is that they meet a US Air Force veteran - he is the American pilot who made a forced landing on Skull Island at the beginning of the film.
As for the lone Major Chapman, he witnessed King Kong fighting an octopus while drinking water, but was unfortunately eaten by a monster.
Among the natives on the island, Air Force veterans told everyone that the fortifications built by the natives were not to defend against King Kong, but to defend against monsters. In fact, Kong is the protector of Skull Island, and the god of these natives - if it weren't for Kong, the biggest monster would have ruled Skull Island. What the Air Force veteran said was true, the female photographer met King Kong when he was saving the buffalo monster, and King Kong left after saving the buffalo.
Air Force veterans have previously tried unsuccessfully to build ships with fighter jets. There was a young soldier in the group, proficient in engineering and manufacturing, and repaired the "boat". After that, they said goodbye to the natives and headed north.
The two groups soon meet, but the black colonel has to turn back to find Chapman, who has lost contact. After arguing, the group agreed to look for it, but had to return when it was dark. On the way, they encountered monsters, and some people were killed and injured. The monster spit out Chapman's bones and pawns, and everyone learned that Chapman was dead.
Even so, the black colonel still couldn't wear it. He insisted on finding King Kong and avenging his dead brothers. He couldn't change his mind even what other people said. So the former captain of the British army and others decided to wait for him on the boat, and the boat must set off after dawn.
The former captain of the British army and the female photographer encountered King Kong, and King Kong did not hurt them. At this time, the explosion in the distance filled the sky - the black colonel was trapping King Kong. King Kong rushes towards the firelight, and the major and the female photographer decide to save King Kong.
King Kong was injured by the blast, the monsters took advantage of the emptiness to enter, and the King Kong breath was dying. The black colonel died, and the former captain of the British army and others fled.
The next day, when everyone was preparing to leave by boat, a monster appeared. Everyone's life was in danger, King Kong came and saved everyone.
