better than rumored

I only watched it now, because the reputation of this film was not good before, but looking at it now, the rating is only a reference value, and the film is actually very good.

The picture of the whole movie is very good. I feel that the bright tones that are used in various mixing cuts have different flavors in different scenes, including the scene of the entire Skull Island, which is amazing even from a mobile phone.

The plot itself is not bad. Reasonable differences are the highlights. There are also various flashpoints of human nature, and it criticizes the hegemony of the United States. The inhabitants of the island are reminiscent of the Indians. Fortunately, "civilization" did not destroy them.

The fighting scenes are also very cool, now I'm looking forward to Godzilla 2 even more!

In fact, in this legendary beast universe at the end of the Vietnam War, the entire story’s setting is very commendable in terms of completeness and rationality; and the entry point and direction of the whole film are also "driven by desire." Classical mode, but the problem lies in the fact that the structure inherited from "Apocalypse Now" and even "Heart of Darkness" is really unstable. The fusion of backgrounds and the creation of characters are all eagerly, and there is no god.

Niubi. Alien + Apocalypse + Old Boy + Field Platoon + Jaws + Journey to the West + Dark Invasion + Eyes Wide Shut + Back to the Future + Jurassic Park + Apocalypse Now. First deify monkeys, and then materialize people. After walking through the underworld, heaven is within reach.

Hank Marlow: [looks at his wife's picture, sings softly] We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when...

  • James Conrad: I'm sorry, Colonel Packard...

    [holds up Chapman's dog tags]

    James Conrad: Chapman is dead.

Preston Packard: Doesn't change a thing. We're still going to that crash site.

James Conrad: What's at that crash site that you want so badly?

Preston Packard: Weapons! Enough to kill it!

James Conrad: Kong didn't kill Chapman...

Preston Packard: [holding up dog tags] But he DID kill these men! MY men!
