Humans make robots, but they are just imitations of human beings. And who would take these poor replicas seriously?
The most ridiculous thing is that human beings self-righteously want to replicate feelings, to replicate unreserved eternal and loyal love.
The results of it?
David, the seemingly successful protagonist, is nothing but a deformed freak. It is a "toy" created by scientists to soothe the pain of bereavement.
Therefore, the semi-finished product of David's model can only be a scientist's fantasy. As a commercial product, the setting of only loving one person in the family is ignorant.
Of course, this film was made in 2001, and Spielberg's lack of philosophy should be forgiven for the time being.
But is there love in the film?
Ha ha.
