After watching it, you should understand what the movie is about.

For a movie novice, the connotation involved in this film is a bit too rich, and I can only pick the ones with the deepest insights.
One: The lyrics of the opening song "one" are a metaphor for the pain of loneliness and loss of feelings. ONE is the loneliest number that you will ever know. its just no good anymore since you went away. Now i spend my time just making thoughts of yesterday. . . . . . . Along with the opening song, the director explained the relationship between multiple groups of characters through quick editing. (Of course, when I watched it for the first time, I was still confused, and I was still thinking about the meaning of the three short stories at the beginning of the film.) Let me explain the plot and the relationship between the characters!
1: An old man named Al was suffering from cancer and was waiting to die in bed. He had a beautiful young wife Linda, and a hospice doctor named Phil. Because Linda betrayed her husband when she was young, she felt pain and remorse when the old man was dying. She wanted to use a lawyer to revise the will that was originally beneficial to her, and she wanted to commit suicide by taking poison in the car. Before Al died, he wanted to meet his son, Ma Qi (Tang Ge), whom he had abandoned many years ago. He was a master of sexology. He despised women and promoted a method of how to play with women. Phil is an emotional doctor. After hearing about the old man's remorse and loneliness, Phil intends to contact Ma Qi before his death, at least to see his dying father.
2: Jamie Kate is a gold medal host, and he hosts a show with a prodigy named Stanley, who is the champion for seven weeks in a row. A win tonight would break the record that had been sitting in the dust for three decades. (Maintained by Tony in 1968)
3: Tony became famous when he was young, but his property was taken away by his father, so he could only work part-time in an electrical appliance store after he became an adult. On this day, the owner of the electrical appliance store informed him that he was fired. Depressed Tony ran to the bar and confessed like a handsome guy with braces (actually, he was just looking for someone to love), but was ridiculed by everyone.
4: The policeman, also named Jamie, works conscientiously, lives self-discipline, and attaches great importance to his feelings. After the divorce, Jamie didn't date anyone for three years after the divorce, simply because he didn't have the right match. In a patrol, he strengthened the host Jamie's daughter Wilson, and instantly felt love at first sight. Wilson became extremely neurotic because of his father's sexual harassment. He was eager to obtain sincere emotions and was afraid of being hurt again. In the end, he could only indulge in drugs and lust.
Two: Loneliness
1: The elderly are lonely. When he was young, he abandoned his wife and children, leading to no one on the sickbed when he was dying. Only the FUCK who couldn't live could express his regret and loneliness in his heart. There are only four dogs at home, and this dog doesn't seem to be very human.
2: Tony is lonely. When he was a child prodigy, he received countless flowers and applause, but when he became an adult, he was cheated of his property by his father and had to work part-time in an electrical appliance store. Whenever someone mentions who he is, he can only get some curious eyes and inquiries. His sentence "I just want to fall in love with someone so much, I just don't know who to love" is heartbreaking to hear.
3: Jamie Kate is lonely. The gold medal host found out that he had cancer and collapsed in the studio. After revealing his absurd past, his wife and daughter left him, and he left him saying "you deserve to die alone". In desperation, he could only pull a gun and commit suicide.
Three: There are also confessions, coincidences, etc.
Four: When the music wise up at the end of the film is played, it seems that everyone's life is in a desperate situation its not going to stop. . . . . . But after a frog rain, everyone's fate changed miraculously, and everyone was saved.

one of my favorite movies of all time

It's a huge masterpiece! After three hours of watching it, it will be a little trance, there are many clues than his last work "Booji Ye" at that time, and this time it is clues that seem to be irrelevant at first, and they gradually become entangled together, and finally reach a climax. There is always a habit in the first three works of PTA. No matter how neurotic and crazy the process is, the ending will always give you some hope.

  • Jim Kurring: Now calm yourself down.

    Marcie: [shouts] I am calm!

Jim Kurring: No you are not calm. You're screaming at me. Do you understand? I got a call for disturbance, and I'm going to checking it out. That is what I'm going to do. Are you alone in here?

Marcie: I ain't got to answer none of your questions.

Jim Kurring: No, you don't, but I'm going to ask you one more time. Are you alone in here?

Marcie: What does it look like?

Jim Kurring: There's no one else in here?

    Marcie: You in here.

Jim Kurring: That's true, but is there anyone else besides me and you in this house?

Marcie: No, I said that already.

Jim Kurring: Are you lying to me?
