Conflict of Faith and Life

Needless to say, this is a movie worth watching.

For film beginners like me, I am afraid that many people will stay away from such films that intuitively feel incomprehensible and simple-minded. But the movie caught the eye soon after it started.

We looked at this movie in three ways:
1. The picture and
the shooting of this movie definitely surpassed too many movies. The switching and structure of the screen are very neat. From a technical point of view, a lot of handheld follow-up shooting is used. The fighting process also adopts the intersection of slow motion and hand-held, which makes the rhythm and substitution of the picture very strong. The director's own restoration of the real scene, the sense of attack and the strict adherence to the laws of logic can be described as meticulously crafted. The blood fog, the effect of the arrow, and even the killing of the sacrificial priests in the camera are very close to the real scene. So the picture has reached exquisite.
For the director himself, the creation of this kind of picture is very complicated. In addition to the requirements for props, there are also a lot of physically consuming filming processes. The unique style in the picture is the director's precise positioning of the shooting effect.
2. Storyline
The main line of the story is mainly along: the tribal life of the protagonist → the foreshadowing of the revelation → the conflict and killing of foreign races → the escape → the counter-killing → the completion of the revelation and the end.
During this process, colleagues have a subplot clue: the tribal life of the protagonist's wife → foreign conflict → shelter (dilemma) → leaving the predicament (new life) → auxiliary revelation is completed and ended.

There are several turning points in the whole storyline: 1) The appearance of aliens → leads to "fear", foreshadowing.
2) Little girl: The fable is presented, and the image corresponding to "fear" is deepened.
3) Heart digging, beheading, and solar eclipse: Corresponding to the opening hunting, it creates potential energy for conflicts and pushes the tense atmosphere to the extreme.
4) Fighting and fleeing: On the one hand, it is a reasonable excess for a comprehensive counterattack, and at the same time, it is the first time to show the Maya's reaction to the sacrifice of the same race, reflecting the beliefs of the entire tribal society.
5) The arrival of a new life: completely light up the new hope, and completely erase the haze of the pursuit
. 5) The ship appears: the story is derived.

3. Plot Kernel
By this part, the benevolent sees the benevolent and the wise sees the wisdom. My positive understanding of this movie is "the conflict and escalation of survival beliefs and life beliefs"

The first part of the movie has always mentioned "fearness", the word fear. What kind of belief is this fear of foreign tribes coming to this tribe? This is an existential belief in the foundation of the tribe. What makes the story turn and change is the attachment to the new life, the attachment to the lover, and the attachment to the rebuilding of the new life after the race is almost destroyed. (What we later referred to as Christ, Buddhism, etc. are all products of civilization that have been sublimated and processed, and the basis of this product of belief is the trust of human tribes in roots and sects, and after analysis, it is the reverence for nature. When This kind of reverence is combined with physical objects, and the people of the sun are born, and then combined with spirit, there is Sakyamuni, Jesus, and Allah.) Therefore, the core of belief in this film is survival belief to life The process of faith unfolds.

Furthermore, how do survival beliefs and life beliefs conflict. If "fear" is a respect for the natural relationship between the weak and the strong, and it is a belief in survival, then in Little Fat Brother's words to go all the way well is to obey the belief of survival, and the protagonist I can't go is to abandon this fearness, Turn to a higher life belief. This is more or less my own guess, as there is hardly any resistance to be seen after being captured, whether it is based on fear of a stronger civilization or fear of leaving the homeland, it seems unclear. Similarly, in the little girl scene, everything changed from the weakness of the little girl to the fear of the Mayans, which expresses the abandonment of the little girl's belief in survival, while the belief in life continues. Readers can refer to understand. ——Generally speaking, it is fear of death if you can fight.

Finally, we can say the last scene. The fable of the little girl is not fully revealed at the end. The flattening of your land did not happen, but it is clear that the Spaniards, as disciples of Jesus, had arrived. This is clearly found in history to correspond to a larger catastrophe.

Here the film ends with this sentence: "Let's go and see?" "No. Let's go to the jungle." The comparison of these sentences can be clearly found. After this catastrophe, the conclusion It was us who went to the jungle, and people who didn't go through this holocaust wanted to see it. This shows that when the protagonist has discovered that two civilizations with unequal power collide, the first thing that happens is not friendship, but killing and enslavement. Here is a return to the original fearness. Here, the protagonist finally learns to behave.

Look at the title of the movie Apocalypse. What is revealed? The analysis of the so-called civilization and belief clues is so messy. I think the movie needs to talk about a simple truth from the opposite side, there is really no way to talk about the meaning of the name from the main line. Human greed knows no bounds. The expansion of civilization was accompanied by conquest and enslavement. This is what this film really wants to inspire the viewers.

Extreme water, Haihan.
