I liked the first season, I really liked it. Because the first season doesn't seem to be able to be translated into language in my eyes, compared to many other movies and TV series that are adapted from novels or can almost be adapted into novels - but the first season, cannot be replaced by any words, It's a movie, a real movie.
I like the sense of urgency in the first season. In the plot, you have to know that this person is about to be killed, but he is really going to be killed; on the camera, you see this person is about to die, but he will. There seem to be countless hints, or tendencies—dangerous tendencies—in the plot and shots that keep you glued to the frame.
I like the perspective of the monitor, the perspective of the elevator, the perspective of all this kind of surveillance - watching the lips of the characters in the picture move, some black and white, some blurry pictures.
I like that there is no soundtrack and I like this realistic style.
If it's a movie, it's a movie. Graphics, shots, characters, soundtrack (albeit blank), dialogue, plot, everything.
I love McNulty, "you are a piece of work" and that classic "what the fxxx did I do?" and of course "I feel like a breathing machine for my fxxxxxg dick".
I like everyone in it.
The second season was a bit lacklustre.
I even want to say, you just need a batman.
(I can't remember the later...)
The plot of the third season was won, the fourth season was forgotten, and the fifth season is still classic.
Yes, what are we going to do for such a city, countless people are trying to change it, and countless people are destroying it unknowingly.
I was even despairing, but from season 3 onwards, I realized that batman is not needed. This feeling, continued until the end of the fifth season, "a life of kings".
Yes, this may be the world, and we have all chosen different paths.
From all the episodes of the five seasons, you can't really feel the writer's love for Baltimore. This love is in every cop, every drug dealer, every corner, every politicalian, every plot, every shot , whether it is called "good" or "bad". As I do to Xi'an, I always love it no matter what he becomes by the aquatic society, whether I go back or not.
I hope everyone can find a life, "a life of kings".
