Although the reason is a bit baffling, for most horror-type doomsday themes, you don't need to know the reason, because it's just the director who wants to use the environment to create a terrifying atmosphere and express his ideas.
During the viewing process, I have been thinking about whether the blind are the hope of mankind! It was finally revealed that schools for the blind were not affected. It's not actually about the sensory future, the feeling is to set a scary atmosphere where you don't use your eyes.
After watching this film, I have a feeling: please help the blind people around you as much as possible, life is not easy.
