Thinking about security and the army

I watched this film two days ago, and I realized that I had watched it when I saw it nearly one-third, as if I had watched it when I was fascinated by Bruce Willis. However, after watching so much, I found out that I have seen it, and I can see the impression of this film in my mind. But this time I still want to finish it slowly, because the issues discussed in the film are related to a book I recently read.
This book is called "Presidents Are Unreliable". It explains the American system in popular language. I don’t know whether our system has related books. Long-term, in-depth understanding and persistent perseverance, so... I
watched the Internet and said that this film was very predictable. The subsequent 9/11 incident was filmed in 1998. This is only one aspect. In my opinion, the commendable foresight of this film lies in the discussion in advance whether it is possible to violate the spirit of the Constitution and allow the military to take control of the domestic situation when the domestic security situation is tense.
As with many things, Americans are discussing enthusiastically and arguing about blushing and thick necks. It seems to us that there is no need for any argument. The people's army belongs to the people, and of course the army has to come forward for security problems in the country! But Americans don’t think so. According to the rules set by President Washington that year, soldiers will always obey civilian officials. The military can only be used to fight foreign enemies, not at their own people. This is to protect the most basic rights of citizens. The bottom line. Due to the characteristics of the military, once the domestic situation is in the hands of the military, the development of things is often unimaginable. Even if there are justified reasons at the beginning, there is no guarantee that the freedom of ordinary people will be trampled. This is already sufficient in this film. Performance. Therefore, in order to guarantee the basic rights of the people, difficult choices must be made when necessary, even if such choices will bring bloody costs.
We have also made a choice. We have never foreseen it or reflect on it. God knows when we might do it again. Many things cannot be changed, we can only hope that nothing like that will happen again in our lifetime, it can only be so.

The Siege quotes

  • [the team is listening in on the three suspected bus 87 bombers]

Elise Kraft: They're discussing how hard it is to find a decent cup of coffee over here.

    [hands headset to Frank]

Elise Kraft: I make out three voices. What do you have on the infrared?

FBI Agent Mike Johanssen: Sounds like three.

Agent Frank Haddad: If we had microwave we'd know for sure. The CIA's got microwave. How come we don't have microwave?

[Hubbard is talking to the landlord]

Landlord: ...There are three of them. All day long they watch TV, and eat pizza. Nothing but pizza. Pizza, pizza, pizza...

[cuts to Agent Danny Sussman, disguised as a pizza deliveryman, carrying a pizza box that contains a bomb up the stairs, followed by the FBI's HRT team members, who advance with their weapons ready. Danny knocks on the door]

    Danny Sussman: Pizza!

[knocks again, this time more urgently]

    Danny Sussman: Pizza!

[a young Arab opens the door and hands him a small wad of money]

Danny Sussman: You want change or not?

Arab: No. Put it on the floor.

    [Danny complies]

Danny Sussman: [sighs] Have you heard? Crime is down 7% in this city.

  • [Floyd Rose hops into the backseat of a car where Tina and Hubbard are sitting, observing a suspected CIA safehouse]

Anthony 'Hub' Hubbard: How's she living, Floyd?

FBI Agent Floyd Rose: She's got two in the Plymouth, at least three inside, and see that guy walking his dog?

    Anthony 'Hub' Hubbard: Mmmm-hmmm.

FBI Agent Floyd Rose: Well he did his business about an hour ago and they're still walking.

[Cuts to Frank and Danny observing from another car]

Danny Sussman: I had a dog like that once.

Agent Frank Haddad: It's not his dog, numbnuts. They're spies.

Danny Sussman: [incredulously] The dog works for the CIA?
