Interview with the Vampire

I took the time to watch "Interview with the Vampire" again - strictly speaking, this is not a ghost movie at all. Ghost movies are purely for sensory stimulation, they don't pay attention to thoughts and souls at all... But I found that "Interview with the Vampire" is full of symbols representing human nature. The strangeness of vampires is actually talking about the greed, jealousy, hatred and cruelty of human beings... and vampires are not ghosts. Every vampire is an extreme person, and there are all kinds of human inferiority in him. In short, the filming is too extreme and dripping :)

Now watching this film may feel a bit cliché, because we are already quite familiar with the various scenes, plots, and even the placement angle of the dialogue and the camera. It’s not surprising that there are some similarities between genre films—and this film was filmed earlier than some of the films about vampires that came out later. It should be said that it was filmed at that time. It's already quite shocking when such a movie came out, but the later movies are mostly imitated, so in our opinion, it's not very new and not very scary :)...Everything is the same, no personality is quite The sad thing is that the most valuable thing is always rare - not bullshit :)
This is Peter's earlier work, a melancholy vampire who indulges in love and doesn't want to surface, he is very contradictory, On the one hand, he still has a human conscience. When he first became a vampire, he was even willing to make a living by sucking the blood of mice, rather than hurting human beings. When he saw Ah Tang killing innocent people, he would suddenly become furious... .But a vampire is a vampire after all. When he finally couldn't resist the temptation of human blood and killed a little girl suffering from the Black Death, his eyes were full of grievances, loneliness and sorrow... ... blue eyes, as turbulent as the sea, as calm as the sea, as sinister as the sea, as innocent as the sea. Angels and Demons...
Who said that Tommy only has a handsome face and deep eyes, and that he has nothing and nothing else? At least in this one, what he showed was a complete acting style... I remember he once said in an interview with the media, I hope my epitaph is like this: Here lies a great man instead of "Here lies a handsome man". This is the one who led Peter into the world of vampires - ah no, the vampire who led the way - handsome, noble, he was even graceful... One day Peter betrayed him, a total betrayal , the little girl tempted him to suck the blood of the dead, and Peter himself threw him into the crocodile pool... When he appeared in front of Peter again with scars, cracked skin and hoarse voice , his purpose was revenge, but he still did not forget to play a tune with his charred hands as an accompaniment to his narration of this unforgettable ordeal... He was resurrected again and again, he Laughing wickedly and wanton, he haunts like a nightmare... but he will still be missed by those who watch him. I don't know if it's a success or a failure to play the villain like this.
Don't mention little Dunst, it's not fair to her... One of the initiators of all tragedies, selfish, domineering, vicious, know how to play tricks, know how to take advantage of others' weaknesses, and at the same time desperately long for normal human family affection And do anything for it... The little girl is so good. I suspect she is precocious. Why is that look the same as when she was playing the public lover in "Spider-Man" now? It's just that now she has long lost the aura and the amazing ruthlessness and aggressiveness of the past. Time can make people grow and make them hard, and they can also polish them into pebbles without edges and corners. And time has polished Dunst into a large vase that is not very glamorous.

In fact, it is a very cruel and dark, but also very beautiful film.

Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles quotes

  • Louis: Bear me no ill will, my love, we are now even.

    Claudia: What do you mean?

Louis: What died in that room was not that woman. What has died is the last breath in me that was human.

Claudia: Yes, Father. At last we are even.

  • Claudia: Louis, what's happening to her?

Louis: She is dying. It happened to you, too, but you were too young to remember.
