The Director's Complaint - From Dracula to Liszt to Edward

After watching the long-awaited "Four Hundred Years of Vampire Zombies" while chewing on the duck's neck and grinning, I was promoted to director control and my brain was numb in addition to my tongue numb. Not a pleasant movie, and totally unworthy of its name.

The director seems to just want to tell everyone how disgusting vampires are, and regardless of how Dracula's looks make people dizzy (the red hairstyle reminds me of the white lady...), it's a waste of Keanu Reeves. Handsome dragon set (his British pronunciation is also very good!), the handling of details (the tool for drawing blood and transfusion! The red blood cell swimming diagram that appears from time to time! There is also the so-called Doctor who studies blood diseases, who only holds a cross and sprinkles holy water on the side. The old wizard who chanted a spell~), this movie can really be made a little more beautiful, it is a poignant story ~ Dracula betrayed God for his wife who couldn't go to heaven because of suicide, and became an undead who lived by sucking blood The devil, stumbled upon the reincarnation of his wife after spending four long years in the castle... What a romantic beginning! ! If we were replaced by Director Chen, I don't know how many tears I would have earned. This made me wonder if the director hated vampires from the bottom of his heart, so he deliberately vilified...

To make up for the discomfort after 400 years of horror, I again Just watched "Interview with the Vampire" - my favorite Vampire movie, it's a story I can't get enough of (I just can't figure out how so many people can't tell them apart).

(Okay, I admit that I've talked so much nonsense that I just want to write this my favorite, this "Interview with the Vampire" I don't know how many times I've watched it, but every time I have a new experience and new surprises...)

About loneliness

Yes, loneliness is my ultimate evaluation of "Night Interview", which is a story about loneliness. Desperate, piercing, lingering, and lonely that no one understands.

It can be seen from Liszt's name, last, last. Because of loneliness, he chose Louis, and at the same time turned loneliness to Louis. Since then, Louis has fallen from the abyss of the pain of losing his beloved wife into another deeper and eternal abyss. His struggles, his contradictions, and his regrets are all engraved on Brad Pitt's square face. This is a Vampire with a human soul, and perhaps that's what makes him so charming. And even the simple request that he wanted to share his story with people was stifled in the cradle by Liszt, which is hopeless (hope Louis won't find out). So, the loneliness has to go on...

about love

This is also a movie about love.

Undoubtedly, Liszt loves Louis, let alone the love of a father for his son or the love between brothers or... ahem The blood-sucking scene is too...) He created Claudia to keep Louis, and called her their daughter, he also loved Claudia, and the happy family of three was really happy for a while day. So for Claudia's betrayal, Liszt must have hatred in his heart, hatred made him last so long (have to lament how difficult it is to kill a vampire), until Louis lost Claudia , go back to the old house to see him, and hold his hands (again, a good material for yy, that dialogue is simply his affectionate confession to Louis), and then it seems to be inspired to restore his youthful vitality! (Resurrection in full state!)

Claudia loves Louie too, the transition from what started out as a father-like attachment to a man-woman love made me admire the little girl's talent (however from Spider-Man's girlfriend I was did not see the slightest continuation of this talent). Of course, Louis also loves this little angel. For her, he can give everything. However, before he can tell whether this love is family or love, he will lose her forever. The real ashes (poor Madeleine, just out of nostalgia for her daughter, and even the difference between vampires and human beings ashes...), hatred made Louis to kill, make that like a grotto The underground castle - the settlement of vampires burned down, ironically when he took the "scimitar" (I have limited knowledge, let's call it that) that these demons once wielded on the stage and chopped them When in two halves, who is the real devil? Who is the real god of death? (If Louis had the same ruthlessness in the face of Liszt, Liszt would have died a hundred times.)

And I have to mention that Armand also loves Louis (a real heartthrob, or a ghost fan.. .) This Parisian old vampire with a bit of romanticism is green-eyed when he sees Louis. This melancholy handsome man with infinite charm makes him want to get rid of his old and old companions immediately, and he can't wait to start a new era. So he used a mean trick to kill two birds with one stone, removing the small burden around Louis, and removing the big burden around him through Louis's hand. When he thought that his dream could come true, Louis left him. Part of Louis' loneliness also depends on his persistence.

It's a bit difficult to analyze Louis's feelings for Liszt, there is resentment, pity, love and hate, but he didn't choose to be with him, that's for sure. (I will try to analyze this issue after I watch it next time, hehe—excuse! A naked excuse!)

As for the director

's story after finishing writing, let's talk about the little details that the director cares about.

First of all, the choice of actors is really accurate enough. This movie has achieved half of the only good impression I have for Tom Cruise (the other half comes from the precious daughter who sees flowers blooming like an angel descended from the earth), whether it is the thin face, the charming eyes, Ribbons with long hair standing up, a few strands of curly hair floating between his foreheads, the cynicism revealed in his tone, and even the fangs and blue veins that burst out when he roared are too extra points for this character, making people really hate it. , and truly love him. Especially at the end of the movie, when he was holding the steering wheel with his white and tender hands, carefully pulling out the rotting lace from the jacket cuff and tidying it up, I almost laughed (while praising the director's dark humor). Guess where he got his driver's license...), he is telling people that he is the only winner in this oppressive noir film, and that his entanglement with Louis will continue forever, so he is no longer alone. I stubbornly believe that even though he said he would give the reporter a choice, he would not turn him into a vampire, this reporter is not qualified.

Secondly, the soundtrack is also very good. The application of a large number of violins and pianos not only reflects the era, but also sets off this depression, loneliness and despair. I especially like Claudia's singing when she was flying gray, the extremely dissonant high-pitched accompaniment, and the pale face full of hatred. Here Louis' eyes are not treated as blood red as commonly described to vampires, but The almost transparent light blue looks more like a wolf or a beast than a human being, and it really makes people sweat for the rabble.

Also, the entire film is filled with a dark palette of dark reds, dark greens, browns, and blacks that contrasts sharply with Vampire's pale face. Coupled with the intricate and gorgeous character costumes (the delicate patterns on the well-fitting high-quality fabrics are my favorite), candlesticks, oil paintings, dolls, crystal chandeliers, it is really pleasing to the eye.

About yy

The subject of vampires has become very popular recently, and many movies and novels have targeted this mysterious ancient race. Each author's Vampire has its own set (and seems to scoff at each other's...). But a few small details in the film make me wonder if the author of "Twilight" likes "Interview with the Vampire" as much as I do. Louis used to be a vegetarian who lived on mice and pigeons, and the light-colored eyes mentioned earlier, the "black talent" that Liszt once mentioned to give everyone different, and the most direct sentence "read her. thoughts"...~ 囧~ Okay, I admit I may have gone too far.

This is a movie that people will never get tired of watching. It integrates beauty, plot, entertainment and depth. It is highly recommended and five stars. (Yes, I am advertising!!)

Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles quotes

  • Louis: Bear me no ill will, my love, we are now even.

    Claudia: What do you mean?

Louis: What died in that room was not that woman. What has died is the last breath in me that was human.

Claudia: Yes, Father. At last we are even.

  • Claudia: Louis, what's happening to her?

Louis: She is dying. It happened to you, too, but you were too young to remember.
