Persist until the end of the subtitles

The filming technique of the film in 1998 was quite good, and the long lens was used quite a lot. In terms of narration, a multi-person perspective is used to repeat the same event, and there are constantly new clues to let the audience understand the plot step by step. This reminds me of the 2008 "Vantage Point" which completely imitated the technique of this film and brought it to the fullest. It was of a slow-heat type and accumulated a little bit to the final climax.

However, "Snake Eye" exerted its strength prematurely, and by the 2/3rds, it was already showing fatigue, giving people an anticlimactic feeling. But how many people persisted until the end of the final subtitles and saw the last shot? This can be said to be a clever trick of the director, and the effect is really good, but it seems that too many people have missed it.

I really like Cage around 2000, not as sluggish as he is now.

Snake Eyes quotes

  • Julia: Look, I'm sorry.

Rick Santoro: Who gives a shit if you're sorry?

Julia: What are you mad at me for?

Rick Santoro: Because I didn't have to know! You decided to have this problem, not me! My world would've gone on turning just fine, but now, either way I look, I have to do something that I don't wanna do. Do you I understand, I do not wanna do this!

  • Rick Santoro: Who the hell do you think you are, lady? Sticking your nose in where it doesn't belong. You were a number cruncher. Just crunch the goddamn numbers.
