The jury system is a herd system.
Atticus, who served as a defense in a black man's alleged rape case, pleaded not guilty. Based on a few points 1. But when attorney Atticus pointed out that multiple crimes were unclear and the evidence was insufficient to convict the black man of rape, the jury still found the black man guilty.
In every era, different countries always face social problems big and small, such as economic depression, racial discrimination, corruption and bribery, stock market turmoil, trade frictions, etc. Many people have been defending the social problems that come and go. Due to the fairness and authority of the law, even if racial discrimination is increasingly serious, people cannot still be deprived of the right to a fair trial. Even if corruption, bribery, murder and arson are all heinous, the defendant should be allowed to obtain a full defense.
As Atticus argues: "We know that people are not created equal, as some people force us to believe - some people are smarter than others, some people are born with advantages over others, some men are better than others. of men earn more money, some ladies make better cakes than others, some are born with more talent than most. But this jury system, which Americans see as proud and seamless, will one day be reduced to a tool of racial discrimination.
After Atticus lost the case, the neighbors told the children that there are people in this world who were born to do difficult things, like your father.
But I still feel that Atticus was a quiet gentleman, a warm and powerful father, and a brave lawyer. Courage, the book says, is knowing you're going to lose before you even start, but you still have to do it, and you have to stick to it no matter what. You rarely win, but sometimes you do.

Atticus uses such an "imperfect" and difficult defense to teach children that no law is absolutely right, and no procedure is absolutely fair.
