I finished watching Escape from Clone Island last night. all the way until 1:30 a.m.I haven't watched movies much lately. There are very few movies that I can watch in one go. There is no doubt that the film is very fascinating.
Clones live in a closed and monotonous world, repeating boring tasks every day. They look forward to the blessing of God every day, becoming lucky and being sent to the mysterious island—the last pure land of mankind.
The outer world is a hell on earth, full of dangers. Those in power inculcate these concepts into clones over and over again. Everyone's goal is to reach the mysterious island. Of course, clones don't know they're clones, and they're just tools for those in power to make money. They play by the rules and believe everything those in power say. Brainwashing makes them lose their basic ability to distinguish right from wrong.
Myst is just a beautiful lie. Every clone sent, without exception, was brutally killed in the end. Those in power sell cloned human organs for huge profits.
The clones, however, never had any doubts until the advent of the Lincoln 6. Lincoln 6 is a different kind of clone who loves to ask questions and think. A skeptical attitude, a spirit of independent thinking, is undoubtedly dangerous in a closed world without truth. The Lincoln 6 is undoubtedly the most unsettling element in this closed, truthless space. He saw the blood and the lies hidden beneath this harmonious society. He rose up to resist, and finally he not only escaped from the clone island but also saved his kind.
I always felt that the film was still too optimistic, and in such a closed environment, in an age where authority is a classic, I doubt that a clone as different as Lincoln 6 could ever emerge. Of course, even if such a clone appeared, he would be ridiculed and informed by other clones because of his uniqueness, and finally be killed in the bud.
