a remarkable woman

I have always cared about those braver, remarkable, aura, and powerful women.
Jill in the movie is that kind of person.
First, a woman, because a man said to her: you deserve better. Then she resolutely gave up the prosperous establishment of New Orleans in that era, and came to the desolate and remote west where even bathing water was difficult to obtain, and came to follow Lovers live together.
Facing her, were four corpses. Chilled corpses. She didn't escape, she said firmly that she was already a Ms, not a miss.
hateful. There is despair. There is sadness.
But such a woman would not care about physical bullying when facing a powerful man. As long as she is alive, she still has a chance. You can't just give her a cold look. What else could it be. Society cannot demand that every woman be a virgin, even in the face of death. Women can also ask for life to go. have their own choices.
Can bend and stretch.
Smile brightly when you can.
Be strong when you need to be strong.

Worthy of being a classic handed down

It can only be described as "great". I'm a bit regretful that I watched this one before I watched other westerns, I'm afraid it will be tasteless later. Many people say that the tempo of the first hour of the movie is too slow, but I think it was exactly the first hour, especially the first ten minutes, which achieved the ultimate language of the movie. Very quiet, very slow, but every second feels thrilling, and there is some power ready to go. A pioneering point is that the image of the heroine is completely different from the usual pure object of desire in western movies and the props of the contention and rescue plot, and it has a richer connotation. The music that Morricone wrote for this film is, to a certain extent, above the American past. When the strings of "Harmonica Man" sounded in an ensemble with the bleak and strange harmonica sound, it was really exciting. At the end of the film the theme music sounded, the train rolled through the old age, the bad guys are dead, the ugly guys are dead, the good guys are gone, leaving the heroine like the mother of the earth, and the small town under construction, full of energy.

Once Upon a Time in the West quotes

  • Jill: [stares at Harmonica from her window] Cheyenne.

    Cheyenne: Huh?

Jill: What's he waiting for out there? What's he doing?

Cheyenne: He's whittling on a piece of wood. I got a feeling, when he stops whittling, something's gonna happen.

  • Frank: Surprised to see me here?

    Harmonica: I knew you'd come.
