The plot's flaws

Recently, I watched Elizabethtown again for Orlando Bloom, and felt that the plot was indescribable.
My mother (Susan Sarandon) did so many things after her husband died, repairing the toilet, learning talk shows, tap dancing, and finally to please a group of completely irrelevant people (the husband’s first love, etc.), which proved her love ? baffling.
The son (Orlando Bloom) is even more strange. His career setbacks will squander his wealth and commit suicide. He feels at ease so much that he takes so much advantage of other chicks.
Needless to say, the role of Spider-Man's girlfriend, can there be something more like this? She taught everyone that love is to go down to the dust, do all the trivial things for him, pick the urn, draw the map and choose songs, and accompany him to comfort him to solve his physical and psychological needs and walk away quietly in time. Why?
And this kind of super housekeeper-style control freak girlfriend is actually very scary, inadvertently will do everything she wants and lose herself.
Friendship, family, friendship and even adultery can be cultivated. Love alone is never a reward for every effort.
If a person wants to love you, he will still love you without having to do anything; if he doesn't love you, he will still not love you if you do everything possible.

This guy should be right here, right now, doing this
