Aside from whether the movie restores the splendor of the novel, just watching this movie feels more idealistic in it. First of all, the story sets up Jack, a ranger-style hero who is not constrained by the social system. He punishes those who are morally corrupt, which makes us kind people feel very happy, especially some conspiracies are hidden behind. It does touch people's nerves to a certain extent when it comes to a big man who makes the vulnerable people unshakable, and makes people feel that there is a real need for a character like Jack to punish criminals and bring justice... like Answered that sentence: There is nothing that cannot be resolved, only those who cannot be resolved; there is nothing that cannot be settled, only those who cannot be settled. Finally, it is worth mentioning that Tom Cruise, who is over 50 years old, can still maintain such a strong body and sway his fists cleanly to interpret such a character, which is still very commendable :)
