Maybe I watched this movie with a 20-year perspective, so I feel like it's just right to give three stars. The three stars are because it made me go to Baidu again to inquire about Western religious concepts.
The story of this movie doesn't feel very full and the plot can't be said to be ups and downs. The biggest difference between it and the Chinese movie of catching monsters and driving out ghosts is probably that it integrates Western religious concepts. But this show can't be seen as a cool movie. There are not too many fighting scenes in the whole show. The most shocking scene is just the scene when Constantine goes to hell. The last boss in the plot relies entirely on brute force, what about your mana? How about you make up that demon and take away the heroine's mana? How come you've lost all your power in the end? And Gabriel's behavior, I still don't understand. What's your motive for helping the devil be born? Just because human beings have committed too many sins, are you helping God to carry out a clear plan for human beings?
This film tells a story of redemption and devotion, and the apprentice's egg in the end is probably the only bright spot. Whether it was God sent him to assist Constantine from the very beginning, or because of the sacrifice of his apprentices, he ascended to heaven and became an angel. This is enough to make you think.
