So the following words are not so much film reviews as they are my own feelings.
A seemingly absurd film, the allusive society should be familiar to anyone with a bit rich experience. A mall manager who doesn’t have much opinion will only complain about his subordinates when something goes wrong, but he has never had any creative or even responsible suggestions or actions. It can be imagined that such a person is at work when he goes to work, and he is at home when he is off work. It's the main thing to do things perfunctorily, and maybe the children will fake public welfare from time to time. Those colleagues who are beautiful and self-righteous, when everyone tries to approach them with the human nature of loving beauty, their superficial and contented expressions are ready to come out. They never put ordinary-looking people in their eyes, no matter how much or how deep the minds of those who admire them are. Relying on their beautiful appearance, they casually sway other people's love for them, without cherishing and never caring. We just watched them play their lives there with another attitude towards life that we can never seem to be able to match, today and this tomorrow and sleep again. It took us years to realize that they will never be our cup of tea.
Shopping mall, this is an excellent environment for expression, crowded but strange to each other. It seems to be living in the hustle and bustle but extremely lonely. The screenwriter’s wisdom shined from here for the first time.
Actor. Rooney is a mall security guard who seems to suffer from bipolar disorder. He talks about "f*ck" every day and comes to "f*ck". He has no quality and is just a small person at the bottom of society. The coquettish counter girl who superficially loves the cosmetics sales in the shopping mall. When the onlookers clearly see that this chick can go to bed coquettishly and play at will, Rooney can't see it, wishful thinking that his love will become a reality one day, So I worked hard wishfully. In the family, Rooney guards a drunk mother and has to be taken care of by others. The few work partners he regarded as friends in his life were either stupid or mentally retarded. Everything about Rooney is so disdainful to a normal person who is a little bit as good. However, such a disdainful and even a little abnormal brain has many bright spots that we can't imagine.
The first highlight is that Rooney talked with his mother about his work at home. The drunken old lady fell from the chair and fell asleep to the ground. Rooney looked filial and gently covered his mother with a blanket. It was so natural, as if he had done it before. Like thousands of times, there is no impatience, no complaints. Filial piety may not only send some money every month, but it may be even more rare to take care of lonely parents when they grow up. When Rooney left his job after confronting the police, his mother came up to talk to him, and for the first time said something seriously about the so-called "persistence to dreams make you look so extraordinary" what the mother should say when her son is frustrated. After the nonsense, the mother really expressed her heart: When I drunk and peeed my pants, I knew you would take care of me. In this case, most people would kick me out of the house long ago, but you would not. Rooney said, because I love you.
The second highlight is the madness between Rooney and the kid Dennis who fled to Mexico. Rooney's work made him feel a failure. The people in the mall didn't respect him. He knew that, but he always looked down on himself, but it didn't mean that he was not frustrated. So when Dennis encouraged him to start doing crazy things, he did exactly what he did. However, at the last level, he insisted on his principles. The responsibility of a security guard and the principle of being a person. I can be crazy with you, make some mistakes, take drugs, beat up a teenager who is skateboarding in the parking lot, but I am a security guard, and I can't guard against theft. This is the most basic principle. If I can do all this, what am I?
The third highlight is several confrontations with the police. When the police threw him into a crime-prone area regardless of his life or death, anyone with a bit of a brain would know that someone was fixing you, but Rooney didn’t think so. He cleverly thought that the police elder brother was helping him grow up and was excited. Hug people a lot. When watching this passage, many people may be laughing just like the policemen who are watching, but why is it not like this on our own growth path? Being teased by others, at the mercy of others, but still thinking that people's hearts will not be so sinister. I can’t say how kind Rooney is, but the shining points arranged by the director on him are lined up bit by bit. A small figure stands in front of you with flesh and blood. Everyone who is young and inexperienced if he has a little memory of himself Will find common ground from him. The difference is that most people prefer to forget, or when they grow up, they stand firmly on the other side and become "smart policemen who can play tricks on others." Rooney didn't. He just lived in his own world so sincerely, letting the outside world's perception of him turn from disdain to paying attention. He didn't care at all, and didn't care about it. You love it, I live my own. This is perhaps the thing we lack most. I dare not call it quality, because it is more important than quality.
The fourth highlight is the psychological test conducted at the Rounikau Police School. When seeing this conversation, many people's reaction should be a bit stunned or dumbfounded. Normal people would tell a little lie to fool the psychological instructor and forget it. Rooney didn't. He honestly gave all the unfavorable answers to him. He didn't realize that honesty was a stumbling block to his progress at this time. But isn't honesty the most important quality of a policeman or even a person? He may not be recruited into the army, but he is a man, a real person. The
fifth bright spot is Rooney chasing superficial women. We usually have a little sense of fear or low self-esteem for those who are very glamorous in appearance. Rooney won't, he just thinks that this woman is mine sooner or later, he should get in the car when he gets in the car, touch his head when he should touch his head, make a date when he is on a date, and go to bed when he should go to bed. I live a very self, very meaningless, I like this f*uking damn it, this movie makes me feel very cool.
Coffee girl. This is our other self. Don’t we stand aside like her, liking others who don’t have ourselves in our hearts? When Rooney threw a fist at the supervisor who bullied her, I felt very happy. There is no need to conceal it. It is wrong to bully the weak and there is nothing to say. For us, we might think twice about interpersonal relationships and how to get along with each other in the future. If you don't see and bow your head, forget it, let it go. Rooney is out for the coffee girl, he is good.
The film's final idealism gave people hope, but the meaning of redemption seemed to be stronger. When Rooney lost his job and returned to the mall and no free coffee is available, he sobbed and said over and over again, I want to walk into this mall today and take out money from my pocket to buy a cup of coffee for myself. He Feeling uncomfortable, this job he didn’t really appreciate, he realized that he cares very much about this job, he cares about the free coffee every day, he cares about this mall after chasing the crazy police job and failing. He still has feelings in the place where he has spent all these years. He thought he didn’t care. He wanted to be a superhero and a policeman with a gun. But the policemen who made him yearn for him did nothing to solve the case. , And had sex with a store attendant in the car, and then tried his best to deal with a man who adhered to his principles and did not want to steal the property from the mall. When the ideal bubble burst, he knew that the job he looked down upon was actually very much. Care about. It's the same with people. When he knows that he is nothing in the eyes of the "goddess" he loves, and that the woman slept with others coquettishly, he went as most of us did after experiencing all this. Accepting a lover who truly gives, looking at Rooney from these perspectives, can you still say that he is mentally retarded? Isn't he doing exactly what a wise man should do?
No matter what level of society we are in, our experiences and perceptions are similar, and we all need to grow. Sometimes we also need to confess, we need to be understood and accepted. When we were innocent, we even thought about giving a speech in front of others to confess that we berate others. We ignore the people who quietly follow us next to us, but superficially chase the bright brother and beautiful girl. Eventually we will all realize what our life should look like. Just like Rooney.
ps:1. Rooney is like young us, in order to cherish the memory of my passing years, not familiar with the world, and experienced psychological growth.
2. The eye sockets were a little wet twice during the movie. One was when Rooney's mother confessed to her son that she wanted to drink beer, and the other was the end.
This is not an inspirational and classic film, but a good film, a very cool film.
