OK, it kind of struck me. It's just okay, I've seen it, I'm not even sure it really touched me now. Even if there is, how much of this impression is for the actors, how much is for the performance, and how much is for the plot is really hard to say.
A simple but simple story. The only thing that makes one feel like "maybe have a look" is cancer. Joseph has a very rare form of cancer in it - so what? He was still cured. So the setting of this rare cancer God knows what it does. It is any kind of cancer with a relatively high survival rate for gastric cancer and breast cancer.
This cancer patient, his girlfriend finally left. Very normal. The director's handling felt both understated and felt like he wasn't pushing hard enough. She has a lot of scenes, but it's like a background. In fact, after watching it, I especially sympathized with her. Probably because the setting of the psychiatrist who finally became Joseph's girlfriend was too cliché and obvious, so I prefer a more cliché but very real girlfriend.
The psychiatrist's treatment is extremely boring.
A plot for Joseph's friend... This is not an R-rated comedy, does it need such a WS?
As for Jon Joseph, the actor. He was ill, he was stressed, he underwent chemotherapy, he broke up, and he slowly established a relationship with the psychiatrist. When he recovered, the psychiatrist became his new girlfriend. That's all there is to this story.
Thinking about it, it can't be said that it is a boring story, but the director made it very boring.
Overall, the final impression it left in my mind was, thin.
