After eight years, I rewatched "The Deer Hunter" again. I didn't understand it before. As the theme of the Vietnam War, I still felt very shocked to rewatch it, especially the second half was very exciting. For nearly an hour and a few minutes in the first half, a very stylized foreshadowing was being done, showing that the three young men had an ordinary and happy life full of innocence and happiness in a small town before joining the war. Stupid, shortcomings, just deducted one star. Even for the emotional drama of three young people, the foreshadowing for so long has passed.
There are too many movies about the Vietnam War. The one that impressed me the most is "Field Platoon", which is even my favorite war movie, followed by "Born on the Fourth of July" and Herzog's "See the Sun Again" ", "Born on the Fourth of July" has a very American perspective, and "Field Platoon" and "Seeing the Sun Again" give Vietnamese a little more attention.
If "The Deer Hunter" compresses the first hour or so, it can be regarded as an excellent war film. Besides, there are young Meryl Streep and Robert De Niro. The last scene of the movie at the wine table depends on the eyes of the two people. Mike looks at Linda, and Linda dodges in his eyes. ...the ending of "falling in love", the two reunited on the train and thought they had passed each other, but Meryl Streep's lonely eyes saw Robert walking towards her, and she suddenly had anticipation in her heart. I don't know why he came back... that kind of complicated emotions are in my eyes... I saw that I was crying and fainted in the toilet, which is no exaggeration.
