Knock you down

When it comes to the word push, what can you think of? The English word under the word "Push" on various glass doors? Or is Rihanna's song Push up on me?
I specifically checked the dictionary and found that in addition to the meanings we understand daily, this push also has a meaning, referring to an urgent and urgent juncture. It is not difficult to understand why this movie is called Push. In fact, I really want to use tweets to refer to the movie I want to comment on, but I still can't bear it.
Paul McGuigan, speaking of this name, I saw it about 4 years ago, because at that time, there was a very strange gangster movie on my friend’s computer called Gangster No. 1 (Gangster No. 1), and I just watched it hastily. , The first feeling should still be good, but I don’t know why I’m not in the mood to watch it. I remember that the last shot was a gang boss climbing up to the top of the (looks like the Empire State Building?) shouting: "I'm Gangster No.1"
Later, when I was just in college, I received a film called "Lucky Number Slevin" because it had Cliff Owen and Liu Yuling on the cover. I went back to see it with a try, and the result was great! A very characteristic and characteristic action crime movie with gangster colors, making people hooked.
So, when I heard about the new movie Push, I was very looking forward to it.
However, (this is an extremely terrible turning point!) After I watched this film, my mood suddenly fell to the bottom. It was really a silent film.
First of all, I must say that the originality of the story is very good and interesting, and even some comic color (the comic of the same name of this movie is also launched together). The first ten minutes is completely okay, it is fascinating, and the atmosphere is also very good, although it uses some old-fashioned true (false) news clips + OS commentary.
But the problem was exposed in the mid-term. Why did Paul McGuigan use so many MV-style processing methods? why? The MV appeared 5-6 times to replace the original drama conflict, which in itself is a very irresponsible practice.
We say that the rhythm and format of the whole film are calm and mature, but when you are adapting to this rhythm and format, the director suddenly gives you a MV that he thinks is very lyrical but is actually very unreliable. Narrative, what is this?
Just like eating chocolate, the first and second are very delicious, but when you eat the third and fourth in a row, do you still think that sweetness makes you fascinated? I think it's difficult. Paul McGuigan obviously ate too much chocolate for the audience in Push. So it will make people feel very hypocritical.
In terms of the story, a classical conspiracy-style story with no new ideas and creativity envelopes the film. No matter how you use the set special person to attract the audience, it will not stop the audience from yawning continuously. You know, the creativity of this strange man is very good. Although there is an American drama "Super Hero" in front, there are not many excellent works of this kind in the film industry. Paul McGuigan chose this subject wisely and wisely, but he didn't do it well and even messed up a bit.
In terms of actors, everyone’s performance is mediocre. I personally think that the only highlight is the little girl Dakota Fanning in the movies "Man on Fire" and "War of the Worlds". She has grown up. , And the young girl turned into a super character Loli. Her rebelliousness and personality are very popular.
For Li Xiaolu, although I have heard her speak English, the truth is that she speaks well (this may be related to her growing up abroad), but her English in the film is actually very bad. As a Guangxi native, she speaks Cantonese. ...I don't understand at all! There is nothing new in styling, and this role is not impressive.
The heroine Camilla Belle has nothing but beauty. The actor Chris Evans has nothing but a good figure. The big villain black Djimon Hounsou has no one other than Samuel L. Jackson. Cha Paulo played Fat Tou Tuo in The Deer and Ding Ji, there is no him.
Is this movie really that bad? Well, I have been trying to leave some space for Paul McGuigan to resist the fierce attacks of critics and audiences. Here is what I think is good:
the tone and color of the film are very beautiful. You can see the four theme tones of the film, respectively. It is green, red, yellow, and blue. But what are the specific meanings and hidden content, I haven't studied it carefully, maybe just for the sake of good-looking? It's not like "The Cook the Thief His Wife & Her Lover" (The Cook the Thief His Wife & Her Lover) that raises the color to a position that includes a narrative function.
The use of the lens is very mature, the hand-held, fixed-position coordination is very comfortable, dynamic and calm, and the micro and macro are scattered.
The VFX of the few special effects lenses is pretty good, and there is no special falsehood. As far as a commercial film with some independent colors is concerned, it is very good.
In addition to the story ideas, these are the more positive parts.
This review is very easy to write, maybe I have a sigh of relief in my heart, it is a movie that disappointed me. In fact, I personally think that Paul McGuigan can do better, but I don't know why he regressed.
