"Thirteen Arhats ": Newly steamed and new brewed old vinegar
When we forget the most beautiful fantasies of an era; someone will tell us that we should still remember. There are no long swords, blue shirts and rivers and lakes; they are still high-spirited and chivalrous. - Vulcan Ji. Inscription.
When I saw "Eleven Arhats" many years ago, the feeling of excitement and intoxication can never be found; "Twelve Arhats" three years later made people sigh again with the memory of the resurrection. When it comes to seeing the field, the vault, theft, and getting out, maybe no one can but think of this well-made series of "Hiding the Sky" series. A well-planned conspiracy, a meticulously divided team; in this series we get to see the finest modern renditions of medieval grand rogue novels. Three years later, the third film in this series made a comeback; but I can no longer find the passion and adoration that I had when I watched Eleven Arhats. It suddenly dawned on me that one of the things that made me so addicted to this series was the feeling of being in the memory, and when we're faced with a vat of old vinegar, it doesn't matter how much we steam it or brew it. Well, it's never going to turn into a jar of fine wine. The transformation from wine to vinegar can be mastered, but the qualitative change from vinegar to wine is irreversible and impossible. This movie, when it was defined by me as old vinegar, all it can remind me of, may be the memories of taste that I have left when I devoured it a few years ago. The same production team also uses the rural commune model to achieve the collection of shooting costs and the final profit distribution, and the same star collection; another way to steal, even if the same box office results will continue to maintain the "Hiding the Sky" series of movies However, it is precisely because of too many of the same places that aesthetic fatigue makes it difficult for me to find a completely different surprise in this movie from the previous two previous works.
Looking for a grandiose reason, the Arhats may not need any reason anyway, but they are just unwilling to be lonely. The way the films work together gives the franchise one of the best facilites it has, which is that the movie has that star team that would make any movie jealous. Numerous stars have ensured the film's foundation at the box office, and the sophisticated production team has also given this film the foundation of expectations. Putting all this together, the final result still disappoints me. The shots, the camera positions, the trajectories, the plot design of the entire movie, it all seems to be impeccable. But what we see is still just the leftovers from last night that have inherited the basic framework of the previous work. The old vinegar in the old bottle has nothing but poignant memories of the years we pondered. The most attractive still can only return to the star-studded cast. However, it became Xiao He and defeated Xiao He. Because of the large number of stars, the movie lost its focus and became sloppy, or, in other words, it appeared sloppy in the shaping of people. Brad Pitt, for example, is, in my opinion, far from what he was in "Battling Club" or maybe "Babel." Because the focus is scattered, most of the stars seem to be just going through the motions constantly, and there are not many outstanding performances. Or rather, we should be more focused on seeing the entire team in this movie. Their loyalty and friendship seem to be more heartwarming, as well as the team spirit of cooperation. And this, depends on the film's high precision in the plot design. Designing a theft may not be very difficult, what is difficult is to design a theft in the most protected place. As the dialogue in the movie says, they are the stars of the thief world, and if they can't do it, maybe no one can. The biggest difference between this movie and its predecessor is that the theft in the previous work is just theft. And in this movie, the theft is so grand. It was like a group of them came to our house and took our things in front of our face, and we had nothing to say or do but full of reluctance and anger. Newly brewed vinegar is always different from old vinegar that is not brewed. Back to Las Vegas, back to the place where the Rohans made their fortune, plus the casino owner Terry Benedict who was stolen by them before, a revenge for a friend and malicious business in the field The competition begins. Create an earthquake that is not terrible, make all the guests in the casino make a lot of money in a not-so-rich time period, then run away together, go to run on the chips in the hands of people, and lose as much as 500 million US dollars in one night . This is simply because of Ruben Tishkov's revenge for being ruthlessly deceived by Willy Bank. Pleasure and enmity no longer seem to be an attractive subject for us, and we may be more concerned about the benefits obtained by the Arhats. Chicken feathers may be far from enough to describe Willy Bank's tragic situation, perhaps it is more appropriate to use chicken feathers and duck blood. The huge deficit in the casino made him lose everything like Ruben and lost his entire fortune. The most powerful female assistant was seduced by a clumsy Luohan, and the plan to join the five-star hotel was also destroyed by the Luohans, ready to use it as a gift A diamond necklace worth about $250 million for his wife was also stolen by the Luohans. It may not be too much to describe the splendid theft in this movie as a perfect robbery, because the beneficiaries are so many. Las Vegas gamblers, who have been tricked by casinos countless times, have gotten back the money they once lost in the casinos, and Terry Benedict, who joined the Rohans with capital injections, also deserved Donated to charity fund. A dazzling fireworks display reminds people of a pitiful blunt look and a group of modern-day rogues who still work together. We shouldn't be disappointed if we ask for this movie in terms of visuals, tight plot, and tension. What I am disappointed with is that no matter how I look at it, this is still just a freshly steamed brew from a vat of old and old vinegar, and there are not many surprises. All return to memory and die from memory. The $500 million diamond necklace was also stolen by the Lohans.
