Worship the people who changed the world

I am a medical researcher. HHMI is a household name in the medical field, but after watching the movie, I realized that its founder had such a legendary life. Great honor to Howard Hughes and his HHMI!

You can say that I adore individual heroism, or that he has all the flaws in him, but you can't deny that it's people like this who change the world, can't you? Like an angel and like a demon, reminds me of John Nash in Beautiful Mind, Turing in imitation games, Zuckerberg in social networks, Mozart, Nietzsche, etc. These rebellious geniuses, these world-changing people!

I don't want to comment too much on the movie, but I'm still impressed with Howard's final debate, yes, he's chasing his dreams, isn't it nice to have dreams? When I was riding a bicycle today, I was thinking that the planes, trains, cars, bicycles, and mobile phones, telephones, televisions, computers, electric lights, and the Internet that we cannot do without come from abroad. Food, clothing, housing and transportation still retain a little trace of our own. Of course, it has been Westernized to a large extent. 90% of life is dominated by the West.

What about our own? Because we lack people with the courage to change the world!

The Aviator quotes

  • Howard Hughes: What about the girls? How are they in the bomb department?

Johnny Meyer: Well, let's put it this way. It'll be a regular boob buffet. I don't think the gentlemen from the Air Corps will have any trouble scoring tonight.

  • Ava Gardner: Look, you got girls stashed all over town. You got a damn harem just at the Bel-Air. Why don't you marry one of your bungalow girls?

Howard Hughes: Those are employees. I'm not gonna marry an employee. Jesus Christ, how would that look?
