The Lego Movie

The fact that the movie is about Lego is reason enough for me to like the movie, even though it's actually not as funny as I expected. To see those bricks come alive certainly unleashes the kid in me and strikes me in awe. I like the The cheerfulness of the characters, but for the majority of the movie there aren't that many things that really shines. The jokes get old after a while and the most memorable ones are all featured in the trailer. What is different of the film is its ending which connects the viewer to the joy of playing with lego, something that I can definitely relate to. However I don't agree that Lego should be played with complete creativity, what I've enjoyed most out of Lego has always been the instructions and meticulounous of making the toy.

The Lego Movie quotes

  • The Man Upstairs: You know the rules, this isn't a toy!

Finn: Um... it kind of is.

The Man Upstairs: No, actually it's a highly sophisticated inter-locking brick system.

Finn: But we bought it at the toy store.

The Man Upstairs: We did, but the way I'm using it makes it an adult thing.

Finn: The box for this one said "Ages 8 to 14"!

The Man Upstairs: That's a suggestion. They have to put that on there.

  • Bad Cop: You were found at the construction site convulsing with a strange piece.

    Emmet: That's disgusting!
