feel the truth

I watched "Brokeback Mountain" a while ago, after it won the best director, and after it raised the same-sex topic again, after a lot of opinions. I chose a free afternoon and watched it.

Slow tone, not too wild and intense. Entering Brokeback Mountain, you will enter a picture as bright as an oil painting. Colors give strength, blue sky, streams, distant mountains, flocks of sheep... The big clouds also float slowly with the slow rhythm of the movie. The scene shooting once attracted me, waiting for Ang Lee to introduce the story to us.

I know that the two protagonists will have a story, but I can't understand the director's intention. There seems to be no sign of entering such a relationship. I haven't fully reacted yet, well, tell yourself to watch it slowly, maybe there will be an answer below, don't worry.

Waiting, waiting for Director Li to give me an answer.

Ness and Jack are fired, and the two are about to return to their original lives. to say goodbye. Impressed here, I feel that Director Li has given some answers. It seems that the two of them are somewhat reluctant to give up, and neither of them has broken the relationship, they are all implicit. Jack drove away, kept looking at Ennis in the rearview mirror, and could clearly see the tears in Jack's eyes; then Ennis, who was alone in the corner, finally couldn't hold back and cried... I remember how to deal with this scene I like the technique very much, with the large thick clouds and simple trees as the background, and then the dark shadow of Ennis squatting and crying.

Next, in the normal marriages of Ennis and Jack, Director Li showed us a very ordinary and trivial family life. Two different families, contrasting with each other, each have their own troubles. Gradually from the joy of the newlyweds into helplessness, indifference, forbearance until the outbreak. Ennis's, not optimistic family economy, taking care of children. Jack's, bear with the rich father-in-law. Director Li did not just talk about the relationship between the two, but gradually reflected the relationship entanglement and psychological struggle between them through their respective families, which was more three-dimensional and easier to accept.

In the end, the outbreak of their respective families was too natural. Ennis's wife couldn't bear it and finally filed for divorce. She always remembered how painful and unacceptable she must have been when she saw her husband making out with another man in the window before. And she told Ennis that she had been paying attention to the fact that every time Ennis came back from fishing, the fishing rod had not been moved, the label had not been removed, and even the note attached to it was still there. These are all foreshadowing to declare the end of the marriage. In this way, the director is indeed a very careful person, and the details are satisfactory. Then there was Jack, whose patience with his father-in-law finally broke out when he was in a hurry. Jack, his father-in-law, his wife, including his children, this play is extremely vivid. This is what makes the film different from the rigidity of the previous similar themes. It seems that there is a reason why Director Li won the award.

The feelings between Ennis and Jack for each other have always been maintained like this. I go to Brokeback Mountain several times every year, and it has been down for more than ten years. Although I still can't understand it, Director Li has completed his work very well. Along the way, the two have experienced nostalgia, reluctance, heartache, quarrels, compromises, struggles, farewells, all of which are no different from traditional love. These are shown in the film slowly, without the slightest rush. Through language, action, psychology, shaping of their respective characters, and their families, they can realize that this is true love. Rather than imposed contrived same-sex love. Some contexts, such as Jack's previous plan from Jack's father, Ennis seeing Jack's shirt, Ennis saying to the shirt I swear, these are enough to prove that such a relationship is natural and real, remembering the past I didn't think the relationship between them was real when I watched my brother's "Happy Birthday".

So, by the end, I think I got the answer. This kind of relationship, this kind of feeling... these, there is no reason at all. What I want as an audience is, well, it's just a real love. As long as you can make me feel the truth, everything is OK.

Very good~ Director Li did it, his delicate, subtle, real...I felt it.
