The easiest way to make people angry to the point of madness is to destroy the most precious thing in their face for no reason. Everyone is afraid of losing family, friends, lovers, or dreams, so they come forward. But what can you do when all the reasons to live have been destroyed?
The theme of Man On Fire is revenge.
Denzel Washington plays Creasy, a retired Special Forces soldier who suffers day and night because of his numerous murders in the past. It was not until he took over the job as a bodyguard and interacted day and night with his employer's smart, sensitive and competitive daughter Pita (Dakota Fanning) that he gradually regained his lost emotions.
But the kidnappers ruined it all in Mexico City, a city known for crime and corruption.
Here comes the most interesting part of the movie: the revenge journey of the protagonist Creasy. The protagonist has the heroic aura of a Western movie, bringing the audience the thrill of using violence to achieve justice. In order to find out the main suspect, he chopped off the fingers of the corrupt police officer like a potato, blasted the arm of the kidnapping accomplice with a shotgun, and shouted at the main suspect, "I'm going to tear your family to pieces."
Denzel Washington's temperament is refined, and his gestures can attract the attention of the audience. It's just unimaginable that he is fifty-six years old this year! Similar in age to Bruce Will, they can be called seniors, and I hope there will be successors.
(In addition to Will Smith, the black actor who can be called "handsome" on the stage is probably Terrence Howard, the black officer in the first episode of Iron Man.)
