It's really magical because it's the most WWII movie I've ever seen. Every time I watch it it's like watching the real World War II. Few films are as impartial as this, and only it and the pianist have the impression.
As a World War II film, it almost completely depicts the final details of the Nazi demise, and every character makes you feel: This is me. The real cruelty of war is far beyond human imagination, and the war itself does not need any artistic processing to be shocking enough.
Finally, let’s return to the title. After losing World War I, Germany was punished twice, as if to tell the world: the world should be dominated by the weak, and the weak should be humiliated, oppressed, and discriminated against; victory in the war can get all the beauty it wants. This horrific view that the end of World War I only made the victorious nations realize part of the view that the vanquished nations would not. So thousands of years of feudal thought will usher in its final swan song: this is the Second World War.
Finally, World War II was over, and the ideas of slavery and oppression were buried forever. The world understands that it is necessary to give everyone the right to happiness, so even the world hegemon, the United States, can no longer use the methods of the great powers more than a hundred years ago.
