This is the tenth review of the star in the house

Recently, during the May Day holiday, I accidentally brushed a movie - "Rwanda Hotel". I didn't do my homework this time, and probably only knew before the movie started that the movie was just about a restaurant in the context of war. But after reading it, I fell into silence and deep thought.

The background of the film is Rwanda , a newly established country in Africa . Since Rwanda announced its establishment, there have been many conflicts between the Hutu and Tutsi tribes in the country, and ethnic conflicts often break out. This is a Miller Collins Hotel in such a unstable country, where European tourists and military dignitaries gather. Our hero Paul is the room manager of this hotel.

one

The rush for rights,

Maybe it's human nature

I remember there was a conversation in there between Paul and the staff at the restaurant

— Do you know how much this Cohiba cigar is worth?

— 10,000 francs

— Do you know what 10,000 francs means to a rich businessman?

— He's not short of money, but if you give him a Cohiba cigar, that's decent.

I have to say that Paul's intelligence and eloquent personality make him really suitable to be a hotel room manager. This is indeed the case. He took advantage of his own advantages, wandered around the various power centers in the hotel, and lived a prosperous and stable life with his family.

Paul might have lived like this all his life if the war hadn't come.

two

In troubled times,

Everyone tries their best to be alone

In fact, we can see from the above how unstable and turbulent a country that uses foreign currency to measure prices is, and the war of ethnic war is spreading in Rwanda.

One night, Paul and his wife Tashana saw with their own eyes that their Tutsi neighbors were innocently captured by the rebel army. Paul chose to be alone. He could ignore racial discrimination or war, and only his family was the most important thing. The network resources he has finally accumulated at ordinary times will only be tilted towards his family.

In troubled times, everyone tries their best to stay safe

three

Even when there is only death left,

Don't sit still

In the chaotic Rwanda, the Miller Collins Hotel existed like an oasis, and all the refugees flocked to it. After the boss of the hotel left, Paul was in charge of the oasis-like hotel by himself.

I finally looked forward to the arrival of the peacekeeping armed forces, but they were not here to save them, because Paul was a black man, and because Rwanda would not win a single vote for the major countries. The Miller Collins Hotel, which has lost its armed protection, is not an oasis, and Paul can only support the Miller Collins Hotel and support the hopes of more than 1,000 people.

Don't sit still when there is only death left. Under Paul's instigation, people began to write letters to everyone around them for help. While Paul tried his best to save himself, he still tried to find his wife's brother through various methods. family.

At the end of the film, Paul found his wife's brother's two children, and at the same time gave up the opportunity to get in the car, and finally immigrated to Belgium.

In fact, the cruelest thing about this story is that it is not fabricated, it is really the massacre that happened 25 years ago, and behind every number in the film is a living life.

Perhaps we have lived in stability for too long, and we have almost forgotten the word war. We always think that the fire of war is far away from us. In fact, this brutal and terrifying massacre happened only 25 years ago.

Thinking of danger in times of peace is really not just talking. From the previous Nanjing Massacre to the present tense Sino-US trade relations, in fact, the world is far from being as peaceful and stable as we imagined. Every time the years are quiet, it is only someone who carries the burden for us!

May the world be at peace!
