"Moon": Science Fiction Tragedy in the Era of "Being"

Sam drove a mining truck and went to a very far place. He saw a round of the earth hanging in the air. It was so beautiful that it made people dizzy. He wants to go back to Earth...it's one of my favorite scenes from the sci-fi movie "Moon".
This year's science fiction movies are a bit interesting. In addition to the traditional blockbuster scenes such as interstellar travel and alien invasion, "District 9" uses metamorphosis mixed with blood to stage the history of violence between humans and alien races, while "About Time Travel" "Hot Questions" made a clever attack and staged a soft sci-fi "talk show", and my favorite was the incredible one-man show "Moon".
The first feeling of watching this movie is the silence, the long silence. After the director briefly explained the background of the story, the film began to unfold such a working scene: in the distant future, the miner Sam was responsible for collecting energy from the moon for the earth to use. He got up every day, checked the operation, collected minerals, and then Send energy to the earth. He was the only one on the empty lunar surface, and the robot named Gerty was the only one who accompanied him. Everything was so monotonous, quiet, and boring, and he had lived this kind of life day after day for nearly three years. Two weeks to go back to Earth.
There were no big scenes, no monsters, which undoubtedly made viewers worried that the whole story would continue like this, but things changed quickly. An accident that brought the film's climax at thirty minutes - when two "Sams" appeared in the same frame at the same time, my first reaction was the same as the first "Sam" in the film: yes Wasn't there a hallucination? Sam gradually discovered that everything he believed actually contained a huge conspiracy. All the reasons that supported him on the moon for three years were a beautiful wife, a lovely daughter, and a happy and warm family. But everything is just unattainable "true lies" - nothing to do with him.
The truth is indeed a bit unexpected, but the film does not focus on the truth of the "two Sams". After "being" a life of peace of mind, the problem of cognition and identification of one's own identity, and then let the audience understand - what is the reason for human beings to live in this world and feel the value of existence. As a human being who lives in groups, what kind of relationship system is needed to maintain oneself? When external forces break the balance between oneself and the surrounding people and the environment, where will people go? To believe such a feeling is far from being simply summed up in terms of loss, doubt, or even terror.
Interestingly, the hero of the film is also called "Sam" - Sam Rockwell. The former Best Actor winner of the Berlin International Film Festival, his performance in "Moon" is superb: on the one hand, he accurately shows a man who is eager to go home, after encountering this major change, he wants to To escape but have to face the tangled state of reality, especially the change from full of hope to gradual collapse, the interpretation is quite layered and convincing; on the other hand, in depression and panic, he quickly changes Be an adventurous Sam eager to find behind-the-scenes answers. It can be said that this state of being displaced in fate is decidedly different from a performance method similar to split personality - he needs to show subtle differences in details on the basis of establishing the same psychological foundation of the two characters. The most awesome scene is the one where he sits in the work car and talks to his adult daughter-the mother is dead, and what's worse, she is "being" possessed by a "father".
I believe that many people will, like me, have a good impression of the robot named Gerty (the English word means "oat flour", some people say that it embodies "instant properties", a metaphor for its emotional fusion with humans). This robot has changed from the ruthless and programmed character in previous sci-fi films, and is more similar to the two robot attendants in "Star Wars". Although Gerty can only express his emotions with simple symbols, he told Sam the password, and even helped him hide the evidence, so that Sam could see trust, love, and even friendship. "Huiqi" serving the government is decidedly different. Correspondingly, it is the logo of the energy company that appears repeatedly on Sam's clothes and in every corner of the spacecraft. It is the symbol of lies and deception. Such a comparison is obviously the best satire for greedy businessmen who are mercenary.
I thought that Gerty would eventually stop Sam as set by the company's program, but it didn't, I thought that the two Sams would fight for their survival, and it didn't; I waited for Sam to find out the truth, guessing that the earth was a hundred years old, and it turned out Nor is it... "Moon" has few clichés. The directorial debut, which cost only US$5 million and was filmed in 33 days, is said to have only 8 people involved. Whether it is from the story concept or the details, it can bring a little inspiration to the sci-fi movies that have not yet appeared in China.
The final ending is sad and warm, because the earth is getting closer and closer to Sam. It's just that the world full of despair and lethality is getting closer and closer to him - after all, breaking free from the earth does not mean that you are saying goodbye to the "being" era.
