Growing from the chessboard

"Let's play chess."

The ending of the TV series seems that it marks the beginning of another sequel.

"Good for you, Harmon."

On seeing she finally went through the darkest moments and gritted her teeth to play the game, I felt so excited and my tears just couldn't help running down my face.

When I saw her went out the door of the playing field and surrounded by the cheerful people, I was so proud of her. She made it! She eventually beat the greatest chess player in Moscow and become the first female chess player who owned the top spot in the world.

I know why she made up her mind to Moscow at the eleventh hour, it is because she felt so guilty for letting Mr. Shaibel down, for she never come back to the school to see him and he never have the chance to watch her to become the world champion. You know, the feeling of knowing someone on earth cares a lot about you, even put all of your up-to-date news and stuffs on the wall is quite overwhelming. That kind of concern can fill your heart with love and courage to keep living forward. By the way, I think Harmon is quite lucky, cuz she have many friends to support her.

She had talent, but she also lost something. She didn't have a fun and great childhood as normal people. "Close your eyes" is the last words her mother said to her. And then she became an orphan. Ok it reminds me one lyric from Hamilton. "How does a bastard, orphan, son of a whore and a Scotsman…" What is the most pitiful facts about her is that she reckoned chess as her only way of getting fun. At first, she made a living by means on participating in many chess contests, and then, it became the only thing she can do. Apart from this, she also had drug abuse and alcoholism, for the two things were her inspiration when playing chess.

Somewhere along the line, I found myself quite resemble some respects of Harmon, for example, stubborn and tend to feel mad when grappling some failures. But fortunately, both of us survived the bad days and move on. She won the game and I stopped feeling sorry for myself.

The scenarios are appealing and I love the leading lady. She's quite stunning and her acting is unusually brilliant. Until now, I guess it is one of the best TV series in 2020.
