Suspense builds too much, keeps it too long, and sometimes it's not good

1. "Super 8" was once one of my most anticipated movies of 2011, of course, because the director was JJ Abrams, and the person who tinkered with suspenseful masterpieces such as "Lost" and "The Cloverfield File" was Definitely something to look forward to.

2. I didn't expect that this sci-fi suspense film with Spielberg's participation behind the scenes would not look good? ! I don't know how many people feel the same way as me. It stands to reason that the mysterious elements involved in the film are what I like, and I like it in the form of suspense, and there are also exciting monsters and exciting special effects... How come it feels so ordinary? I think there are three main reasons.

3. First of all, Abrams thinks that he likes to keep the audience in the dark too much, and the habit developed in "Lost" has remained to this day. This is the case with "The Cloverfield Files", and so is "Super 8". The suspense is so strong that it definitely makes the viewers think wildly, like falling into the fog. This is of course good. During the viewing of the film, I was secretly admiring the level of Abrams' layout. However, the problem is that the suspense he created this time is too long. Before the truth of the incident is revealed, there is really no hint at all, so people have the audience to think wildly. The disadvantage of doing this is that the viewers gradually lose their patience to find out, feel the film is long-winded, and can't wait to end it quickly to know what is going on. This kind of psychology is unprecedented in my movie viewing experience!

4. Secondly, the courage of the little protagonist in the film is too exaggerated, and what he does is greatly inconsistent with the characteristics of children of this age in reality, which makes me feel like dancing. Everyone, please think about it, is the little boy in the film going into the tiger's den to rescue his girlfriend at the end, and the state of looking at the alien is too awesome? How about being an adult like you and me? I confirm that I dare not, and will never be able to be so calm.

5. Furthermore, there are too many omitted parts of the plot, and I feel that the story is not told clearly enough, so that the characters' emotions change abruptly, and it is difficult to fully bring the viewer's emotions into it.

6. The special effects of the train derailment are very shocking, spectacular and impressive, but there are some traces of CG.

7. The little actors performed well as a whole, especially the little male protagonist and the little fat man who likes to make movies. They performed very well and calmly. (The biggest problem with the Fanning sisters is that they don't look good as they grow up, and their future is bleak. I still like how cute they were when they were kids.)

8. Although the overall level of "Super 8" is average, I still look forward to JJ Abrams' next mysterious work, hoping that "Super 8" is just a technical fluctuation for him.
