"Production value!"

The only thing that stood out about Super 8 was the first shot, which made me think at first that this movie was going to be as epic as ET, and Spielberg's shot is not what I expected. However, the whole film only has this very successful shot in terms of directing skills, and the rest of the content is almost all sci-fi suspense without novelty. It's said to be full of homages to classic sci-fi movies - just do we need homages now, or do we have to pay homage due to lack of creativity? Secondly, the most outstanding is probably the "Production value!" shouted by the little fat director to the crew when the train came. However, the other roles among the children were set too obviously: the thin-looking child pried open the iron door ;The kid who was blasting was used to detonate fireworks to distract the monster's attention; in order to get rid of the appearance of the little fat man at the critical moment, he directly gave him a sentence "are you gonna be ok without me?" This kind of screenwriting method that only uses the character once is really unsatisfactory. . In the end, the watch was sucked away, and the child finally chose to let go, which is still a somewhat meaningful ending.
