I've always felt that Devil's Advocate is an underrated movie, and I can't figure out why it didn't catch on? Devil's Advocate is really a treasure movie, an existence like a treasure chest. Different viewing needs can be met in this film.
In terms of film type, this film combines a lot of different elements, thriller, suspense, crime, religion, mysticism, court defense, eroticism; family relations, you can even treat it as a career promotion book;
In terms of roles, the actors in this film are few and exquisite. The three main characters, Al Pacino, are the ceiling in terms of acting skills; Keanu Reeves, the ceiling of male actors' appearance; Charlize Theron, the appearance of female actors The value ceiling (and the acting skills of Keanu and Theron are not bad), I really can't think of any other cast that can surpass the combination of the three of them; more importantly, the two are still in charge of their looks. The film contributed a large-scale passion scene.
This movie is really an audience that can satisfy every need. Do you want to watch the plot? No problem, the plot of this film is compact, the narrative structure echoes from beginning to end, forming a closed loop, and the ending can also be said to be an open ending. Al Pacino's evil charm is impressive; do you want to see acting? I watched the confrontation between Keanu and Al Pacino at the end of the film and Al Pacino's speech-style performance a dozen times. Want to see details? The first half of the film contains a lot of clues that hint at Al Pacino's true identity. Interested friends can even pick up the metaphors behind several medieval optimizations that appear in the film; do you want to see the connotation? In the film, the lawyer played by Keanu is constantly walking on the edge of morality and law. Al Pacino's remarks about the devil and his doubts about God are enough to make you think deeply; do you want to watch more exciting? Many actresses, including Charlize Theron, have a lot of nude scenes in the film, which is definitely a feast for the eyes.
