Hello everyone, I'm Alaska with glasses and a microphone. Recently, Apple has released a bunch of American TV series. I explained " Seeing" among them, and the graphic push also talked about Aniston's " Morning News". Apple is fighting such a big battle to get a piece of the pie in the era of streaming media.
But this cup is not easy to grab, because Disney has also launched new streaming media dramas, and it is based on the gold-level IP "Star Wars". It is "The Mandalorian" that can be called an epic sci-fi drama.
The "Star Wars" series, I believe that many young friends are not cold, one is that it is too old, the first release was in the distant 1977. The second is that its settings are particularly complex, with a bunch of planets and characters, and many forces mixed in, which is harder to remember than "Game of Thrones". And its release order is not proportional to the development order of the story.
1977's "Star Wars: A New Hope" is actually the fourth episode according to the timeline. The real story begins in 1999's "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace". Are you already dizzy? Don't worry, this episode of "The Mandalorian" doesn't require you to finish the previous movies. You just need to know a basic worldview setting to eat.
First, you need to understand what "The Mandalorian" is. You can think of the Mandalorians as the fighting race in Star Wars, they wear helmets and are covered in weapons. Even if you haven't watched this series, you will know that the Jedi Knights with lightsabers and mysterious powers are very powerful, and The Mandalorian is an existence that can compete with the Jedi Knights. They don't have any powerful "force", they all rely on real hard work.
In the two episodes of "The Mandalorian" that have been launched so far, the protagonist of the fighting race is a bounty hunter. He was ordered to destroy an object that needed to be eliminated, but when he reached the enemy camp, he realized that it was a baby to be killed. This little baby, who has seen "Star Wars", will definitely show a motherly smile. It belongs to the same family as Master Yoda, the Jedi in "Star Wars".
Such a recognizable character, of course, will not be killed as soon as he comes up. Because the other party is still a child, the protagonist gave up the task of killing him, and instead took the baby to start a desperate world, by the way, to find out the truth of why someone wanted to kill a child. These two episodes of "The Mandalorian" basically tell the beginning of a story. But the amount of information in it is not much at all.
* "Storm Trooper", the most familiar imperial lackey to "Star Wars" fans, also appeared in the bar where the protagonist went to hand over tasks. There were a bunch of strange aliens, each with a background. Those with jaws like octopuses appeared in the 1983 movie version:
There are also people who are born with a gas mask, and they have long been exposed in the 1977 movie version:
This guy is a taxi dispatcher. You ask him to call a taxi for you. He has to play a flute with his long mouth to call for the car.
*The robot that drives the car, Star Wars fans will burst into tears when they see it The combination is playing a card game.
This card game is called "Sabak". It is very popular among "Star Wars" fans, and its settings and gameplay are similar to poker.
Imagine that the person sitting opposite you is such an elephant-trunked spaceman, and your hand may tremble slightly.
If there is another four-eyed alien who is watching the fun, I bet you will not survive the next game.
In addition to the dazzling array of aliens, several strange wild animals appeared in the two episodes. The first one to play was the roasted "Kovak Monkey Lizard". Although I thought it was pitiful, I don't know why I thought that it would be delicious with cumin...
As for this "Blegg" that can be ridden, it looks like a tadpole with rough skin and thick flesh, and it looks like it can't be chewed at all.
There are also walruses emerging from under the ice, also covered in armor.
In the second episode, the rhino that came out of the hole strongly, known as the "mud horn monster", is even more difficult for people to talk about.
After talking about the food, uh, talking about the monsters, The Mandalorian also has an inhuman character that caught my eye. It is the strongest fighting robot in the "Star Wars" series - IG-11.
Don't underestimate this thin, scarecrow-like robot. It can rotate 360 degrees and is a weapon from head to toe. With agile skills and powerful firepower, it can block a hundred with one block. But this robot is not without weaknesses. Once it has a premonition that it cannot win, it will explode. In the play, it cooperated with the protagonist and fought a wonderful tough battle.
The protagonist's skills are not under this robot. There are two main weapons he carries. One is a small and handy pistol.
The other is the "Amba Phase Pulse Blaster" that he has been carrying behind his back.
This gun is like the golden cudgel of Sun Wukong, and it is the strongest weapon of the Mandalorian. In the movie version, the Mandalorian, who appeared for the first time, did not have this pulse gun behind him, but a more exaggerated rocket launcher.
The story mode of " The Mandalorian", if you think about it carefully, it really fits well with "Journey to the West". It is the story of the protagonist escorting the baby to "learn the scriptures". In the first two episodes, the stills of the two of them going on an adventure together, if you say it is the sci-fi version of "Journey to the West", there must be some people who believe it.
What's more, the second senior brother really appeared in the plot.
This old guy with his nose turned up like a pig was a supporting protagonist in the first two episodes. According to the plot setting, the second senior brother is a "steam farmer". The steam farm sounds a bit difficult to understand, but its main way of working is to extract water vapor from the air to make money in arid regions.
It's a bit like the peasant class in the "Star Wars" world, where the farmer helps the protagonist because the protagonist can clean up the troublemakers around the farm for him. These troublemakers are mercenaries. They burn, kill and loot around the farm. The descendants of Yoda were robbed by them and hid in the warehouse.
These mercenaries were the most powerful villains in the first two episodes of "The Mandalorian". Because of the chaos of the fighting robot IG-11, the firepower of the mercenaries was easily resolved. What gave the protagonist even more headaches was the Jawa who dismantled his plane privately while he was away.
These Jawas are all dressed in black robes and have glowing eyes, as they appeared in the very first Star Wars movie. The place where the Jawa live is a giant desert crawler. They love to collect electronic equipment. When they see electronic equipment, they must go along. Even their weapons are ion blasters that mainly destroy electronic equipment.
In general, The Mandalorian, which has been online for two episodes, is like these Jawas, which are interesting to watch, and people wait for them to take off their robes and reveal their real bodies. Presumably after reading my introduction, you can also see that the main point of this drama is not the ups and downs of the plot. It sells the feelings of "Star Wars" fans and a huge world view setting. I'm not a very experienced "Star Wars" fan. Just watching the sci-fi universe created by "The Mandalorian", I think that even if an epic war breaks out in the future, it should be exciting.
*This is a doorman robot. The sci-fi details of The Mandalorian are in place. In the next plot, the mysterious creature "Secret Dragon" that the Mandalorians once controlled may appear ("Game of Thrones" has a sense of sight). And there 's a flash of "Fried Chicken" that will make "Breaking Bad" fans scream:
Such a half-hour drama per episode, even though the amount of information is dense, but because the plot progresses slowly, it is still very friendly to passers-by. Because of this, passerby fans are also easy to get into the pit.
Looking at the next-door adaptation of "Watchmen", the rating has dropped below 8 points, mainly because the rhythm and worldview display are not right. And "The Mandalorian" held steady at 9.4. It can be seen that the adaptation of the heavy original work can be done slowly.
This drama, like the "Dark Matter" drama series, I am going to raise it first, and when the time is right, I may do a commentary. "The Mandalorian" has already booked the second season, if the first season maintains the current level, it will be no problem to score more than 9 points.
Finally, tell everyone an Easter egg. The person who plays the protagonist wearing a helmet throughout the play is the "Red Viper" in "Game of Thrones".
*I didn't expect it to be here today, and say goodbye.
