The sequel is the terminator

There are not many good words, maybe I really like the Terminator series too much, so I have higher requirements for it.

One sentence review: If you just want to feel the shock of the audio and video, this movie is really good; if you want to remember something, it's really hard.

After more than 100 minutes of bombardment, I finally woke up from the movie, it turned out that the sequel was not the savior.
If there is a movie that has the same influence and appeal as "Transformers" among male audiences, the "Terminator" series can be described as the obvious choice, and the Terminator is back. The background of this story takes place in the future 2018, the war between robots and humans has started, and John Connor has become the leader of the resistance army.
The demolition battle at the beginning set the tone of the movie. The scene of walking in the dark made me a little scared, and the fight scene at the gas station in the middle, the sturdy crane and the robot column, all these The scenes all made people's hormones rise, and they were addicted.
For ordinary audiences, this movie is a qualified summer popcorn blockbuster. There are popular elements such as blasting, fighting, drag racing, and chasing, as well as the fresh excitement of robots with different shapes, which fully meet the audio-visual needs of watching movies; but for audiences with a Terminator complex or higher requirements, this movie is in the plot. The thinness and the similarity in look and feel must be unsatisfactory.

Terminator movies, especially the first and second movies, use the biblical story "Judgment Day" prophecy to trigger people's thinking and worries about modern technology. This deep-level warning goes beyond what a sci-fi movie can carry. After all, the fourth Terminator is a long time ago from the first two, so the film focuses on the problem of distinguishing between humans and machines, that is, the identification of personal identity.
This is a very interesting topic. Just like last year's "Batman Prequel: The Dark Knight", the "Prisoner's Dilemma" style of choice in the face of crisis is very realistic. Marcus, a new character in "2018", his process of getting a new life and self-redemption from a death row prisoner: why a person who has no worries and many evildoers is unwilling to give up his right to be a human being is the best interpretation of this proposition .
It is a pity that this contrast is handled hastily in the film. Whether it is his despair at seeing his body for the first time, or his resentment after learning the truth, or even the decisiveness of his final choice, every paragraph that could have formed a climax, basically The above is a brushstroke, and it was handled too naturally. It did not show the struggle and helplessness of Marcus when facing the trick of fate, so that it could not arouse the audience's resonance with his final choice, and did not achieve the effect of strengthening the thinking on the theme. So the other protagonist John Connor had to play the role of a missionary, telling everyone not to execute orders like a machine, telling everyone that everyone is caring,...
It can be seen that the director and screenwriter did not want to make this movie simple The definition is a sci-fi blockbuster, but under the balance of various aspects, a movie with more than two-thirds of the action scenes and explosive scenes, the richness of the plot and the foreshadowing of details have to compromise and set sacrifices: Take Marcus' self Cognitive processes drive the plot, and through John Connor's tone of exaltation, the disjointed main body of the story can't help but feel a little disjointed, making this philosophical theme fleeting like a cloud.

While the visuals are stunning, most scenes lack novelty. Fans of action movies and sci-fi movies will find many similar passages. The first air strike landing made me think it was a reappearance of "Black Hawk Landing"; the deformation lens of the robot would vaguely think of "Transformers"; The arrangement of the headquarters also made me hopelessly relive "The Matrix"; and the scene of the robot expelling humans into the cell, "Singler's List" came to my mind... This is not a tribute , but the director's relatively stable handling of this type of subject matter has also caused too many similar bridges, so the freshness of this film is not high.

In the process of watching the movie, I reminded myself more than once to ignore the plot and focus on the scene. John drove straight into Skynet so long, I can understand that Skynet deliberately "lured the enemy to go deep", but why after he rescued the hostages, a reinforcement plane could complete the rescue mission? Where'd that super-powerful, omnipotent column of machines go? Is it even so easy to do a major heart transplant?

Skynet headquarters was bombed, the rebels fled in victory, and Marcus sacrificed his life for the routine ending, which basically made the film fall into a mediocre situation. Therefore, the biggest highlight of the film is that Arnold Schwarzenegger showed a little face, which satisfied everyone's complex, and also established a direct relationship between the film and the Terminator.

If you are not picky, this movie is a qualified sci-fi action blockbuster, just because it is a work that connects the past and the future of the Terminator series, you can't help but ask for more from it. Last month's "X-Men Prequel: Wolverine" was reduced to a personal photo show of Hugh Jackman, and "Terminator 2018" became an audio-visual bombing farce. If the sequel movie is only to extract the last business Interests, but will be self-defeating, ruining one classic series after another.
