in the name of love

Finally, I couldn't hold back and watched the dvdscr version. I've been looking forward to this film since I saw the poster, the gloomy, decadent, yet charming gothic style I'm obsessed with - Tim Burton, teach me how not to love you?

This is not fabrication, this is history. It's hard to imagine that this story actually happened. However, let's turn to the history textbook, the story of the beast cannibalism has been written for thousands of years. This is just a special episode, compared to the big productions that often happen on this land, it's just a small scene. First, let's review this dark tale from the dark ages:

the real Sweeney Todd did exist in late 18th century London, and he killed so many people that his flesh was culled and sent to the famous Lady Lovett in London at the time The meat pie shop sold to Londoners, the still fresh bones were left in the forgotten burial chambers in the basement of the old church St. Dunstan, so many bones that they could pile up from the floor to the vault of the tomb, the meat left on the bones. The disgusting, rancid stench permeated the church, forcing worshippers to cover their noses with handkerchiefs throughout.

A movie in the name of love is of

course different from reality. It has a little more tenderness and warmth than reality. The director softened the icy edges and corners of reality in the form of musicals and comic-style scenes. When I saw the first shot, I was reminded of the puppet animation "Corpse Bride" (Corpse Bride), which was also written by Burton - using a close-to-animated image to interpret such an extremely cruel story. The difference between the two is that Zombie Bride is an out-and-out romantic drama.

Todd and Lovett used their actions to trample the word "humanity" into the mud of reality, and the inherent goodness of human nature seems so powerless here. In the face of such evil deeds, does God cry too? Who can save, and who should be saved?

In the film, the director makes an excuse for Todd and Lovett's crimes. love? Yes, love! How many injustices have been done in the name of love. At least it gives us some relief though: Bad reasons are better than no reasons, after all, sin doesn't grow naturally in our hearts.

The song that Todd sings at the beginning of the movie sets an unpleasant tone for the story. A beautiful wife and a happy life are enough charges for an ordinary barber--you don't hear it, the husband is innocent, and he is guilty of guilt? "She is his life, she is beautiful and moving." Simple words contain the power of destruction, love will make people move, but also make people crazy. That hideous accusation, the black hole in Todd's mouth, is not just against London? The reason why the story is shocking is not that it is evil, but that it directly points to the heart and faces the reality.

For revenge, Todd chose to fall, picked up the razor in his hand, and judged all the injustices in the world on behalf of God. I am reminded of Se7en, it seems that every murderer has this kind of delusional disorder. But, is there really a God? Can anyone really judge the sins of this world? I heard that God sent his Son to walk in the world and use the body of God to bear the evil deeds committed by man on the cross. However, why after more than 2,000 years, we still only see the continuous decline of human nature?

Cannibalism, or being eaten. Is this really a multiple choice question? Mr. Lu Xun's words are still in my ears, history is written in blood.

Lovett fell in love with Todd, which was an unexpected arrangement. But in this context, everything will not develop in the normal direction. The love of the perverts must bring about a perverted ending: Lovett concealed the news that Todd's wife was still alive, Todd killed his own wife with his own hands. After knowing the truth, he killed Lovett.

Love is so crazy, so blind, so devoted, so reckless. What can we say? Incredible, or over exaggerated? However, the stories we see in the news are no less than this. Life is always more imaginative and dramatic than movies.

I would like to face the sea

life is not beautiful, love is crazy, but we don't have to despair. The director probably also saw that the story was too heavy and too desperate. So I added some pink decorations to the canvas painted with blood, hoping to embrace this cold reality in this way.

"Facing the sea, think about it and be happy." "At the seaside, we grow old slowly." Lovett's wish turned out to be so simple and so clean. Love seems to be within reach, but it is far away. People born in troubled times will never be able to control their own destiny, not to mention the luxury of desire, which belongs to heaven. We live in an unhappy today. We may not have to fight for a living, but we are blinded by reality, forget what love looks like, and can't find our heart. Compared with Todd and Lovett, who can't be happy, which one is more tragic than us who have abandoned happiness without knowing it?

It's just that the short-lived warmth is always out of tune with reality. When Lovett wakes up from fantasy, what he needs to face is the endless killing and Todd's never-ending hatred. He would never love her, and even if Todd had forgotten what it was like, he still wouldn't love Lovett. Todd was turned into a devil by hatred, and Lovett was willing to go to hell with him, even if he couldn't get his love, even if he just stayed together.

"You've got to forget all that. She's gone, but life goes on, dear. We can start a new life, maybe not the future I dream of, maybe not the past you remember, but we can live." When Lovett said this to Todd, I broke down uncontrollably and burst into tears.

The simpler the wish, the more impossible it is to realize. The last person who said "I would like to face the sea and wait for the spring to bloom" chose suicide. Maybe life is really too complicated for these pure hearts to survive. We can't imagine that Hai Zi, who wrote such a transparent verse, would say no to reality by lying on the rails. We can't imagine that such a sincere and loving Lovett is the owner of that man's meat pie shop.

This is the irony of reality against ideals, and those good things have all turned into ashes. All the warm-colored images are either Todd's memories or Lovett's imagination. The reality is always the gloomy, depressing Fleet Street. Like the London sky that never clears, Hope, seems to be seen in legend.

Do n't despair

we can't see hope in this story, but there are many details of the movie that will entertain us. It's the same "but we can live", we are not poets, so we can live.

Tim Burton uses his unique approach to give us a little room for a smile, albeit a little abrupt, even dissonant. However, in the face of such a story, such a reality, we can only find a way to smile. Music is a good form, and the more serious the subject, the easier it should be to talk about it. It is not considered an innovation to express this story in the form of a stage play. It is said that the film itself is adapted from a musical. So, whether it's the set, the costumes, or the performance, there are obvious theatrical traces - exaggerated expressions and body language, making us seem a little slow to respond to the impact of the story itself.

It's a good movie, not a classic. Those who like B-level movies (CultMovie, also known as cult movies) should not miss it. There are a lot of duets in the movie, which are also very good. Johnny Depp's voice is not good, it is better than the truth. It is said that it is the first time he has made a voice in a movie, which is a big gossip selling point.

I've been thinking that it would be very enjoyable if the old monster Kun came to make this movie. How many tons of blood plasma will he prepare, and how many broken limbs will he prepare?
