Maybe Depp wouldn't be where he is now if he hadn't met Burton. Actors with such a dark temperament are definitely not mainstream in Hollywood. But in the same way, there are many good men, but all the beauties are taken away by those smirking boys.
I don't like the music here. It's not that I haven't seen a Broadway adaptation of the movie, but I really can't appreciate this kind of melody. And the way the music is interspersed in this way is really unbearable. Every dialogue has arias embedded in it, and most of them seem extremely nonsensical, and they sing as they speak.
In the plot, Todd's revenge did not take any initiative, but he just killed innocent people indiscriminately and waited for Turpin to come. If he couldn't wait, he didn't know how many people he was going to kill.
The life he lived for revenge lost all meaning the moment he got what he wanted, and the truth he discovered afterwards made the life before revenge even more meaningless. A meaningless person was the knife he used to kill. Knowing that life is a good thing to die for. It's a pity that the people who love him end up tragically one by one.
