Benjamin Baker was exiled to Australia due to a wrongful trial and ulterior motives for encroachment, where he was imprisoned for 15 years Years later, when he returned to London's Fleet Street, things had gone wrong and his family was destroyed. Baker decides to let the people who caused it all - the evil Judge Turpin and his nefarious accomplice, Biddle Benford - pay for it in blood. Baker, under the pseudonym Swinney Todd, resumed his own barber business next to Mrs. Nell Lovett's pie shop. It was from Mrs. Lovett's mouth that Todd finally learned the reason why Turpin framed him. It turned out that he wanted to occupy the baby daughter of his beautiful wife Lucy Monk. At this time, Todd discovered that the vile judge Turpin had turned his lustful eyes on Johanna, Turpin's adopted daughter and Todd's lost daughter, who had now grown into a slender girl. In addition, Mrs. Lovett's newly invented mince pie quickly became the most talked about new topic in the streets of London, and the business was getting more and more prosperous. She began to fantasize that she could become the kind of respected person, and Marry Todd, take her newly adopted son Toby, Pirelli's former barber assistant, and head to the beach for a new life together. It takes a lot of courage to make it into a movie, praise Tim. I brought together the surprise of the first time I listened to the original sound of the musical and the first time I watched the changed version of the TV movie, and decided to give it an extra star. Bold editing and music reconstruction once again proved Tim’s genius

Adapted from a stage play. It would be great if I hadn’t read it before, but unfortunately I happened to read the original version...there is no gothic taste, the skinny girl is a big-ma-type, and Todd is a fat man with a thick midrange. Bloodletting is a mark. But even so, it tastes a lot better than this film... To put it bluntly, this Todd is simply insulting the opera house, sings too badly, and of course add gothism, the final result is four different

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street quotes

  • Mrs. Lovett: So what are we gonna do about the boy?

    Sweeney Todd: Send him up!

Mrs. Lovett: No, Mr. T. Surely one's enough for today. Besides, I was thinking of hiring the lad to help me run the shop. Your poor knees aren't what they used to be.

    Sweeney Todd: All right.

Mrs. Lovett: Of course, we're gonna have to stock up on the gin. Boy's drinking like a sailor.

  • Judge Turpin: I have news for you, my friend. In order to shield her from the evils of this world, I have decided to marry my dear Johanna.

Beadle: Ah, sir, happy news indeed.

Judge Turpin: Strange, though, when I offered myself to her, she showed a certain reluctance.

Beadle: [sings] Excuse me, my lord. / May I request, my lord, / Permission, my lord, to speak? / Forgive me if I suggest, my lord, / You're looking less than your best, my lord, / There's powder upon your vest, my lord, / And stubble upon your cheek. / And ladies, my lord, are weak.

Judge Turpin: Stubble, you say? Perhaps I am a little overhasty in the morning.

Beadle: [sings] Fret not though, my lord, / I know a place, my lord, / A barber, my lord, of skill. / Thus armed with a shaven face, my lord, / Some eau de cologne to brace my lord / And musk to enhance the chase, my lord, / You'll dazzle the girl until...

    Judge Turpin: Until?

Beadle: [sings] She bows to your every will.
