Rugged reflections and (un)obvious bugs

1. I have changed my face but not my body. Why can't I recognize my husband's body after so many years of marriage? Plus there is such an obvious gunshot wound, or both before and after piercing

2. Eve and Jamie obviously prefer the Sean that Castor turned into after changing his face. If Castor has never changed back to Caster, will the three of them live happily forever with Sean's face on?

3. How does Sean, who becomes Castor at the end, feel how he feels when he sees "himself" dying?

4. Is it okay to bring other people's children home to raise them purely for the sake of reunion? Have you asked Adam's wishes? Did he know that he went to the house of the enemy who killed his father? (Even killing his father would be nice to him, but it's just a projection of love for another dead child?)

The first time I heard about this movie was when I watched Slam Dunk magazine in high school, and Tony Parker said his favorite movie was Change Face. Yesterday the Spurs' No. 9 jersey was retired, and today is my second and possibly last time watching this movie. Looking at it now, of course, I think Woo is still too unrestrained in his styling, and the identity game of mirror image destiny is not profound. However, the evil and charming Travolta, the male god-like Cage, John Woo's white dove, and the entire 1990s, will never be missed again.

The perfect combination of Woo Yusen and Hollywood style, the "face-changing" that Chinese people are accustomed to play under modern technology is truly wonderful. Travolta's impeccable performance as an actor has captured me ever since.

Face/Off quotes

  • Castor Troy: Sean Archer here, who's calling?

Sean Archer: Well if you're Sean Archer, I guess I'm Castor Troy.

    [hangs up]

    Castor Troy: Ah, yes.

  • Castor Troy: [while holding a gun to the pilot's head] Fly bitch!
