First impression: The tone of the whole film is as pale as it has been washed with bleach, Trevor is as skiny as a skeleton and his bony face is scary.
After reading the previous part, I have doubts in my heart: 1. There is a sticker on the refrigerator What do the numbers on the sticky notes mean? 2. Why is Trevor obsessive-compulsive like desperately washing hands and floors with bleach? 3. What caused his severe insomnia? 4. Where did the waitress at the airport restaurant attract him to keep going? 5. Is Ivan his fantasy? 6. Why did he kill the person at the beginning of the movie? 7. What does it mean when the camera closes up multiple times at 01:30 in the morning? 8. What role does mother play in the plot? 9. The red Pontiac Firebird that Irving drives is the only normal color in the film, so why is it highlighted in red?

In the end, everything was explained: because he hit and killed Maria's son by lighting a cigarette while driving, and he suffered from split personality and delusional disorder, most of the acting in the film was his own imagination. There is a sticky note on the refrigerator reminding himself not to forget some things because he can't tell the difference between the imaginary self and the real self thinking, and the two will be confused during the personality transformation. But I still have no idea what the numbers mean. Red is the color of blood, and the one who crashed and escaped was his self a year ago, at 01:30. And his paranoid use of bleach was to wash away the harsh blood red in his memory. . . The reason for his illness should be that he wanted to start his life again after escaping, but the huge guilt caused the constant reappearance of his past to trouble him. Finally, when he turned himself in, he finally stopped being troubled by insomnia.

There is a lot of suspense in the first part of the film, and many details are ingenious, such as puzzles:mother-Miller---killer.
If it weren't for the fact that I've seen too many films with mental illness before, I should have given "The Mechanic" a higher score.
