Still recommend watching it again, even if there are no spoilers. If there is, it will definitely not affect the look and feel.
Not a complicated suspense. Nor is it bloody, ghostly horror.
Although it will be clear by the end that the cause is a very simple story, I think it is a movie that combines suspense and horror very well. Notes, mirrors, tunnels, photos... These seemingly unconnected images appear repeatedly in the film, which cannot allow the audience to have a logical connection and thus cannot predict the plot direction. Such unknowns, coupled with the film itself, is so low in saturation that the filter is similar to black and white. The mirror renders the film's eerie, dark atmosphere again and again.
piecemeal
1. The filter is really well handled, the almost black and white tone reveals a mechanical smell, thick and depressing.
2. The book the male protagonist reads is Dostoevsky's "Idiot". Reading it will help you understand the plot. There is always a sentence "go to hell" in the haunted house in the movie, which can be said to be an easter egg projected by the book in the movie.
3. The title of The Machinist will slowly unfold in the later stages. After the male protagonist is fired, it will make me feel that there is a feeling of "off topic", but changing it to something else will always spoil things?
4. I like this movie, but there is nothing particularly amazing about it. I wanted to give it 4 stars, but Mr. Bei is really dedicated! Walking skeleton stand? Not to mention the acting.
