Movie Essay

The beginning of the story is in the style of a typical suspense thriller, with dark nights, corpses thrown, a tense atmosphere, and with Bell's skinny shape, there must be something wrong with this character. The first half gradually tells about the appearance of some strange phenomena caused by Bell's insomnia life, and it is the normal mechanic's work that becomes difficult. The movie seems to have a simpler plot after seeing it, and the previous narrative has almost become a burden to the later, rather than a supplement. The suspenseful atmosphere accumulated in the early stage has not been reasonably released in the end. The fantasy plot is somewhat similar to "Fight Club". The two characters are chasing and entangled. The previous plot of the mother and son can be said to be a reference to the dream reality of "Mulholland Drive". But there are still a lot of episodes that are hard to connect, and some of the characters in the lines don't really make a difference. Bell's performance became the most outstanding part of the film. He lost 60 pounds for the film. The presentation of the ultimate insomniac, the hunched body, the skinny shape, the deep-set eye sockets, plus The neurotic performance is indeed worthy of being a plastic man.
