XX/7, an eavesdropper serving in the Security Bureau of the GDR, has a keen insight, a cold expression, taciturn, and a character with almost no personality. But it holds up the whole movie because of its quality.
XX/7, people who are more than cattle. In him I see what is uniquely human, called qualities, firmness, courage, wisdom, forbearance, and compassion. It's really kind of like water.
The behavior of XX/7 may have played a crucial role in political activities, somewhat similar to the butterfly effect, but it was ignored because it was just a butterfly. In history, his name exists only in the corner of the archives, no one pays attention, and he doesn't care at all. I admire this kind of character without fame and fortune. After losing his position as an eavesdropper, he made a living by delivering letters. Loneliness and monotony are the main themes of his life. There is no whitewashed excitement and no glitz. This life seems to be really just a screw. Who would know, his character, his How important is the independent will in history?
What touches me the most is that his silence is in stark contrast to our current society, which is prosperous on the surface and impetuous in nature.
The Lives of Others. Great work.
