I was struck by the unique style of the exorcist, it was not like a midnight bell, nor a grudge. It creates an atmosphere, a world for us in a unique way, and allows the created atmosphere to permeate the entire world that was also created. The atmosphere made me depress, not fear, and I think the depressive atmosphere created by this classic film is far superior to pure fear.
Of course, this may not be suitable for some thrill-seeking spectators, because there is no visual impact here, there is only a deep exploration of human nature and spirit, and an objective evaluation of our strength and the nightmare in our hearts.
The end of the film does not define the fate of this devil, is he dead? He's back in hell? Or does he still exist? We don't know, but the sweet smile of the girl at the end, the detective dining with the priest, tells us with this undefined ending that while the devil may not be gone, hope and justice are always with you and me.
