Single comment on the weak support of the third part

The level of The Godfather Part III is strikingly similar to what it's trying to convey. Just as Mike Corleone carried the family's entire business on his own, Al Pacino carried the entire film on his own. Diane Keaton's role is too small, and the role itself is not heavy; Sofia Coppola has a family and friend group and a ticket-playing nature; Andy Garcia has a style and a style, and the momentum is obviously insufficient. Apart from the still tense and intense struggle of the traitor among the allies in the first third of the film, the personal monologues of Al Pacino or Mike Corleone and the lacklustre performances of the rest of the cast make up the rest of the film.

Maybe Coppola was tired, maybe Mario Puzovans was dry, maybe the lack of a cast of Robert Duvall, Robert De Niro, or even Marlon Brando just wasn't enough for such a heavy movie.

The Godfather: Part III quotes

  • Don Altobello: I must accept my age, and grow my olives and tomatoes.

  • Michael Corleone: I, uh, betrayed my wife. I betrayed myself. I've killed men, and I ordered men to be killed. No, it's useless. I killed... I ordered the death of my brother; he injured me. I killed my mother's son. I killed my father's son.
