growing up

The film feels flatter to watch, not as novel, tense, and exciting as Harry Potter. But the most important thing about this film is to let people see the growth of 4 children. The elder brother Peter finally challenged himself as king and took on the responsibility of the king. The third brother, Edmund, was used by the White Witch because of his jealousy and resentment towards his eldest brother Peter, but in the end he overcame his jealousy and fought side by side with Peter. The fourth sister Lucy, as the youngest child, was able to display her wisdom and persistence, firmly believing that Aslan was not killed by the White Witch. There are also impressive characters such as the lion Aslan, the half-human sheep, and Mr. Beaver, which are worth watching.

Narnia is a fairy tale movie, and it seems wrong to use a magical epic to measure it. The witch is very beautiful, and McEvoy's fawn is very cute.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe quotes

  • Mrs. MacReady: Professor Kirke is not accustomed to havin' children in this house. And, as such, there are a few rules we need to follow. There will be no shoutin'. Or runnin'. No improper use of the dumbwaiter.

[Just as Susan is about to touch the nose of a marble bust on the stairway landing, Mrs. MacReady shouts]

Mrs. MacReady: NO... touchin' of the historical artifacts!

[Mrs. MacReady resumes her authoritative voice]

Mrs. MacReady: And above all, there shall be no disturbin' of the Professor.

  • Peter Pevensie: Mrs. MacReady?

    Mrs. MacReady: I'm afraid so.

[pause as she looks the kids over and their meager baggage]

Mrs. MacReady: Is this it, then? Haven't you brought anything else?

Peter Pevensie: No, Ma'am. It's just us.

    [Lucy nods her head yes]

    Mrs. MacReady: Small favors.

[She nods her head for the children to climb into the horse cart]
