Maybe each of us will complain when we encounter difficulties, no matter what we complain about, God, God, or fate... Maybe we also hope that we can fully control our own destiny, just like in the play Like Jim carrey who became a temporary god. But the truth is not as imagined, in addition to having super powers, there are of course a bunch of unexpected things.
Remember when the protagonist asks what God wants him to learn, the answer is to learn to pray. I think we should all learn to "pray", perhaps not just representing a religion, but we should at least learn to pray and find a spiritual sustenance.
Perhaps we do need a "God".
