After watching the movie "The Big Short"

Through the fascinating rhythm and content of the story, the film decrypts to the audience a group of investment geniuses who do not know each other and have unique vision, see through the illusion of the US credit bubble, and spy on the story of the global financial situation in 2008.

When I first entered the movie, I was really confused for a financial term novice like me. As the story progresses, the film that left the deepest impression on me is that it was the subprime mortgage crisis. Combining the content and materials of the video, the subprime mortgage crisis can be understood as: the bank lends money to customers to buy houses, but regardless of the customer's credit, the bank then takes the loan securities in order to quickly recover the money and make a profit from it. They are packaged into MBS and sold to other financial institutions, and these financial institutions in turn sell these MBS to investors all over the world, including individual investors all over the world. Investors think they are buying AAA rated securities with very low risk, and they can own their house and sell it for profit without paying the lender, but the truth is they are buying C rated junk securities . As soon as house prices start to fall, disaster will come.

The subprime mortgage crisis was undoubtedly a disaster for others, but it was an opportunity for those who identified problems and shorted the US economy. Verifies what Buffett said: I am fearful when others are greedy, and greedy when others are fearful. It also verifies that both wealth and truth will always be in the hands of a few people.
